does anyone have any experience of snow conditions in Meribel through the month of december? We went last year in Jan and the snow was fine, however my mate and i are new to boarding and will be only getting in a couple of long weekends through the season, so want to make sure we get as best a chance of good snow as we can.
thanks for any advice

Decembers a long month, depends if you mean start or end. It might be ok it might not but its not that high so isnt guaranteed to be good that early in the season.

The season starts around the 11th of December in that area, although you'll probably find that not all of the runs are open. It's part of the 3 Valleys so if you find that Meribel doesn't have enough stuff open for you then you can extend to the whole area pass. We were able to ride from Courcheval to Meribel to Val Thorens that week last season.
I've been all over the world, Ibiza, Magaluf, Blackpool etc and Tamworth was by far the best for snowsports!! It's intense man!!! You're totally gripped when you're at the top and looking down...

You can still get pretty good deals in Tignes around mid-December. Maybe a bit more reliable compared to Meribel at 2100m, but as Chris says you'd have some access to adjacent areas in Meribel same as in Espace K'illy. Don't have any experience of pre-Xmas conditions though - can't imagine its easy to predict!

I'm trying to find some peeps at the mo for a short break before Xmas just to wet my babies nose
