Bought a cheapo helmet couple of years ago and I've decided to invest in a new helm (with audio preferably). Was also looking for something a bit more low profile as my current one is pretty thick (my hood wont go anywhere near over it for example).

I've come down to a choice between Bern Watts (with audio liner), or the protect b2 snow audio.

I'm leaning towards the Watts on the basis that I can also use it over the summer for casual MTB (do a bit of trials and trails) as I need a new MTB helmet as well - I'd rather pay £70-£80 on something I can use all year around rather than £60 + £40 for two, lower quality lids.

Having trouble finding the Watts in small however, whilst I can get hold of the b2 in the right size.

I got a Red Mutiny... quite slimline, audio, it's got a peak and fits my goggles nicely.

However with helmets, it's the most important thing to check it fits, rather than what it looks like, a bit like boots.

Bear in mind that Bern do two types of inner. EPS, which is the standard for helmets and
conforms to the safety standards, and their own Brock Foam, which is not suitable for
snowsports use. Well, it doesn't have the relevant safety certs.

take a look at the salomon range of lids, they are really thin and lightweight, a bit pricey though

It's not designed for snowsports but it's suitable enough... mine has taken some hits and I think the brock foam is actually designed to take multiple small hits... although one big one will smash it... the EPS is not.

People tend to get excited about what each thing is designed for and start stating insurance etc... the only time it really matters is if you are entering a FIS event.

Picked up a Watts recently. I really do have a small/odd shaped head as the small is touch and go and its supposedly smaller than my current helmet which is marked up as being bigger!

Anyways...has anyone else got this helmet, and if so could you recomment some goggles that will fit with it? I was looking at a pair of feenoms, but I very much doubt they fit.

ive got a smith maze.

its apparently the lightest helmet certified. its cool and proper low profile. because of this it will scratch/dent a bit easier than some. buts it a cool little helmet for the moolah.

I tried a k2 crossfire on today - good fit, bit skierish though! Wasn't keen on giro or head. Only really 1 place I can physically drive to her sadly.

I've been looking for something a little bit thinner too, I have a RED Mutiny and although it does a good job at protecting my bonce, it makes me look like a bobble head.

I'll have a look at the lids mentioned so far in this threwad but if anyone has any other suggestions, also needs to be compatible with Oakley Crowbars.

Bolle all the way. My whole group have them now and we always wear them. They are pricey though but I got discounts at the time. Cant anymore.

sadly no audio option but lightweight, low profile and all safety marks.
