Anyone else seen this yet? I really liked TLG a lot....brought the fun in snowboarding to life.
Not entirely sure about LGGL. I get the feeling we've been to the locations before, and as seems to be the fashion recently, some of the music is a tad sketchy. I'm 39, so not exactly a cool-kid. That may be part of the problem, as i suffered the widdly guitar songs first time around, and nobody was happier than me when Nirvana came along & shut that particular door.
Having said that, good flick & still ahead of Neverland, but a tad behind Black Winter imho.
Ironically, the best part (for me), is "Left over part". Cool editing & great song!!!!!
Anyone else got thoughts? |

Chris, dont be so quick to think i dont like isenseven soundtracks. i liked the Uber Movie soundtrack, really liked the TLG soundtrack. LGGL is certainly a wide mix of music from the catchy pop to what sounds like rockerbilly.
The opening just kind of happens, and i couldn't even tell what what the track is like, apart from a bit forgettable....conversely, i loved the Nid & Sancy opener in TLG, and got it from iTunes as soon as i could.
May just be down to personal taste that i think widdly "hair-metal" guitar tracks suck.....and i i'm a guitarist.
The track on "left over part" is freaking sweet, and i can't stop watching it.
Mrs -=JK=- is less charitable, and thought the music on LGGL badly let it down in places, especially following on from TLG, which she loves. Maybe our expectations were too high. Still love isenseven tho'. |

mucsic in films is so subjective its not possible to say this ones good this ones bad, its up to what sort off thing you like. I personally love all the Isenseven soundtracks and listen to them when i ride, but thats my kinda music, I think the music in the Absinth films is well boring and didnt like the sountrack to Black Winter either, its all to dull and serious |

Music IS very subjective. My problem is that i'll tend to skip through a part if the music is grim ( as far as my tastes are concerned ). This mustn't be what the film-maker has in mind, surely?
Absinthe's track-selections are moving further away from what i'd like to hear, whereas isenseven is generally very good. Strange, as i'm firmly in the Absinthe age-range compared to isenseven.
Bottom line is that whatever track you put with your visuals, you should put music alongside that compliments the hours of effort in getting to the location, riding, editing & production. Don't risk turning your fans off through iffy music. |

QUOTE (-=JK=- - 15/11/2009 @ 13:53) This mustn't be what the film-maker has in mind, surely? yes but how are they supposed to know what music you like and what you think is grim and will skip through, its impossible to please everyone all of the time! |

It shouldn't really work, but Devun Walsh's part to The Cardigans 'Erase and Rewind' in Double Decade is one of my favourite all time parts.
Found on youtube, enjoy...

I have always liked that section too.
It's all about the key changes matching the picture changes and that the audio should never overpower the visual. Afterall you a looking at the boarding first and formost. You didn't buy a CD.
It's a bit like elevator music, it should almost be under Noticeable. In your subconciou. I think it's actually really hard to pick a piece of music that DONT fit with a section of footage, almost everything does. Try it, put on your fave DVD with the sound down, put ya iPod on playlist and see what happens??

Definitely.
I had that playing whilst riding top to bottom of Grand Montets on one of the many powder days I had in April this year. |

Agreed. Talking myself into a corner here, but i guess if you don't push things musically a bit, then it could all get a bit bland......and i'd skip through anyway
So has anyone actually seen LGGL? Just can't live with that part with the damn rockerbilly crap playing. Riding in that section is great too! Shame.
Same goes for Wolle's part in Neverland....and Rice for that matter. |

yeah man! I work in a snowboard shop with a widescreen tele... I have seen every film for this year enough to memorise the majority of each! its kind of depressing! however, I have seen Lets Go Get Lost and its so sick! gets me totally pumped to ride! Ludwig Lejkner and Torgier Bierre (ive probably spelt that wrong) section is so good! the opening sequence is proper funny as are all Isenseven films and Anton Gunnarssons opening section is rad! sorry but im loving a bit of that music at the moment. I think the use of The Beastie Boys "intergalactic" in Black Winter for the second section is probably THE worst soundtrack choice of all times, because quite frankly, the beastie boys are generally sh*t!
LGGL riding is undoubtedly some of the most innovative riding you will see in any movie this year but it is a bit more of a young persons film. check out B Movie, or Forum Forever, both are pretty good.
hope that helps. |

I was dissapointed in LGGL, its not a patch on Teenage Love Graphiti and Ubermovie. |

that is true, i wasnt disappointed as such, but it didnt get me quite as stoked as Ubermovie, i dont think any film could ever compare to Ubermovie! its amazing. i guess the biggest disappointment for LGGL was the final trick, it was like a 10 or a 12 maybe. and just seemed to happen and end. All the build up seemed unnecessary. the rest of it was good though, mainly the technicality of the riding and the innovation that is always present in Isenseven films. |
