As there are normally quite a few people coming out to Les Arcs, is anyone interested in having our own party week in Les Arcs. Arranging places to stay and other stuff should be ok if you give me enough notice. All you need to do is book your flights, I can do the rest.
Go to the facebook group page and add a post in the discussion section for meeting up if you are interested and I can take it from there.

Looks very bleak up there today. Not much snow below 2500m, but the weather is suppose to close in now for a few days with snow forecast so here's hoping. One month to go so we do need that base to start forming now. |

In reply to the post about pistes in Les Arcs by bobjim.
The pistes in Les Arcs hardly ever close completely as there are a number of forests. You can always get round to Arc 1600 forest by bus in very bad weather and easily spend a morning or even a day playing in that area. But you do need to take care if going far from the piste. There are also forests in Arc 1800 and Peisay Vallandry. The lower pistes are in the forests as well.
In Villaroger very near to Arc 2000 there is also a forest which is great fun and lower lifts so it stays open when the higher lifts are closed.
The higher lifts will close if the wind is very strong, the pistes only close if there is an avalache risk and they cannot protect the pistes or not enough snow, but there are canons almost everywhere now so lack of snow should not be a problem. There are 9 nature ride areas where you can test your off piste without worry or gear as long as you stay inside the marked areas and only go on them when they are open.
Hope that helps. |

Just had a quick look at all the webcams, I know, very sad. It looks like the snow line is about down to 1000m today, but very wet. Just a little bit of snow settled on the street by George's Wine Bar up in Arc 1950. It is good having the webcam pointing straight at his place. Think we need a lot more before the 11th Dec. I am SURE we will be ok. |

Looks wet and snowy today, hope to see better tomorrow. Raining outside right now.
Other News:
Good news, Owner season lift passes are on line again now for Les Arcs, you can go to the Les Arcs page and buy your pass anytime. Even if you had a photo card before, you still need a new one for this season to download so have it ready. Oh well, at least you can get your pass now.
It does seem strange but for the public, you can only buy the discounted season pass on the Edenski web page through La Plagne, but it is good for both areas etc. This will now run until the end of November they say. A very good deal if you are doing 3 weeks or more in resort. If anyone has any more news about this pass please share it with us.
Ski a la carte passes are also available, gives good discount if you like to visit other places in the area. |

Conditions: Just went on the webcams, it looks yuk up there today and yes very wet even up at the top of arpette lift. Please let it get cold again soon and stop raining and start snowing again. Other News: A word of warning to those getting the 'ski a la carte card insurance'. Yes the card is great and should work even better this year, but the Carrie Neige season Insurance that goes with it has changed. They have fixed the loop hole from last season so now they say the Insurance is ONLY valid when you are using the Carrie Neige card as well so I am going back to the Carte Neige that works everywhere, not just the Ski a la carte places. Thought you all needed to know this one. |

Been doing the webcam thing again. Not very good news. Seems like the snowline today is up about 2200m at least. And even up to 2500m looks very thin. I hope this rain turns to snow soon. So much for an early base. The rain last weekend has done its job. Very sad. |

Fresh snow in Les Arcs again, doesn't it look nice. All the webcams seem to be working again, so time to dream of all that powder just weeks away I hope. Sun and low temps tomorrow followed by more snow as next week progresses. I might even get out in the snow this weekend. |

Had my first trip out onto the winter snow last weekend. Managed to get up to a farmhouse in the snow for the weekend with some friends. Great fun. Snow level seemed to be at about 1100m and just under 1700m we had firm snow about 12cm depth. Very rustic with log fire and oil lamps for light at night. Snow was still frozen and in OK condition on the way down. Is this the real start of the winter. Hope so, well below freezing at night. But I made the classic beginner mistake. Did not take spare batteries for the cold weather and guess what, after two shoots camera stopped working. Not happy Oh well better planning next time.
With the fresh snow that has fallen in the last few days it is starting to look good. It even seems like it is settling a little. Only a little while to go for me now before I am there all the time. |

Great news, snow falling all the way down to below Arc 1600 again and more on it's way. Enough snow to be riding in the Arc 2000 bowl, but you might drop through onto the odd rock. Snow conditions are improving all the time so fingers crossed for the 11th Dec when the lifts open. |

Even better news than yesterday. Snow down to the valley and beyond with a cold spell as well to help form a base. I have been told the canons are still working away and it is hoped that all work taking place in various parts of the resort will be finished in time for the 11 Dec.
Will have to get the skins out again this weekend or maybe even go somewhere where the lifts are already open |
