When I have the time I will post stuff about Les Arcs and Paradiski area here during the season. Hope it proves useful. Please add info that I might have missed or just use this thread to stay in touch. That way we can all chat about Les Arcs in one place which makes it much easier to follow.
New piste map for Paradiski has been added to Les Arcs web site. Also here are a few other useful links.

New lift at Arpette, natur rides all over the place and some missing lifts that are going to prove a pain with queues in high season.
Right now not much snow about below 2500m. Let's hope the cold weather comes soon.
On mountain bar near to Snowpark is the Altiport, cool place to hang when you need a rest. Other bars in Arc 1800 Charvet Bar BoBo, Arc 1800 Villars Before Bar. Cheapest food snack bar in Arc 1800 Villars Kebab place.
Thats enough for now, enjoy. And please do add a comment when you pass by so I know I am not wasting my time. |

Today's weather update and snow conditions are not such good news I am sorry to say. First I did not get to take out any beautiful blonde film stars as I am based in Arc 1950 for this week helping out with guiding people around the slopes whilst the film festival is taking place and then as if that was not bad enough, it dared to start to rain , yes rain at 1900 metres tonight. During the day it slowly became warmer and although still plenty of places in the 2000 Bowl to ridei by 3pm it was starting to get heavy near to 1950. The wind picked up as the day went on and the clouds came and went then came back again and stayed until the snow started higher up and like I said it even started to rain. Right now the clouds are still here and there is light snow in 1950 and a little rain lower down I am told. I hope things get better tomorrow or all this loverly snow will be gone in a few days. But do not panic, it is going to get cold again soon the French meteo says I hope they are right. |

Has nobody read this since I posted last night. Please comment so that I know it is worth my efforts.
Todays report is a little better.
Oh such a hard life, another day in all this luxury whilst I am a guide/host for the Film Festival. Was with a film producer but not one I had heard off and still no blonde film stars, where are they all hiding. I see some in the bars every evening. Next week I am back home so I am enjoying the sauna, jacuzzi in the snow (yes it is snowing again tonight), Haman etc etc whilst it lasts. I think I should be on commission for selling Arc 1950 as a good place to come for your holidays. Ah, but next week I will have all my home luxuries which I also miss (well a little).
Remember, anyone that is out here this week or next. Please do get in touch if you fancy meeting up or just for a beer. I am in George's Wine bar in Arc 1950 most evenings at some time so you can leave a message there if you do not catch me or post here or PM me with my user name 'snowcrazy'.
Now for the real report of today.
When I woke up it was still raining, not good but had to go out anyway, yuk! Met one person, had a short slide then coffee. And called it a day. It was still raining at above 2000metres when we headed for home. A very short day!!
Went to see a movie, but when I came out, yippee it was snowing again and quite heavy, but right now it is impossible to get down to 1800 or any lower if you value your kit. When I got back to Arc 1950 it was still snowing early evening and it is still snowing lightly right now. One guy who braved it till 4pm told me over a beer!! that is was really heavy up at the top of the transarc by 4pm.
So do not worry, as long as it stays cold now, the snow level should recover by next week. I HOPE!!
I do not know where they get the snow depth from at the moment but right now at Arc 1800 it is about 5cm not 30cm. Higher up it could be 50cm plus so the 70cm is not to far out. But it needs to get really cold now so they can use the canons and start making the pistes.
Will update again tomorrow. |

Sounds about right, the early season promise of an epic start to the season, isn't quite holding up. The temps will drop, sure enough and it will be ok. Its always a very tricky time to be booking a holiday, it will either be epic or crap! |

Going to be out in Les Arcs in Feb for a week from the 20th with my 2 brothers and a friend. Hopefully will be a good one. Staying at ChaletArcs.
Whos going to be out there at that time? Maybe anyone out there fancy showing us around?
Any tips on good places to go out in the evenings? We have a car too will that be useful or no real need for it in the area? |
