Hi Allie,
I was working as a Resort Rep in Les Arcs this season based in 2000 so I know the area pretty well
The best places to stay are in 1800 and 2000, however you need to make a decision.
For nightlife goto 1800 it's got a good nightclub and plenty of bars and restaurants. For the best access to the best slopes, stay in 2000.
1800 access to the slopes is good except first thing in the morning particularly during the holidays as it can get stupidly busy. It has one long cable car Transarc and one long chair Vagére which go to the top of the peaks. There are a couple of others which give access to halfway up the slope and 1800. 1800 is also more central so you can get to either side of the resort without much problem (that said a competent boarder can get from 2000 to Peisey- Vallandry in 45 minutes maximum so it's all relative).
2000 has 4 bars and a nightclub which is in fact a restaurant before 11pm. Whistlers Dream and Yeti bar are the best places to be. Personally I liked 2000, you could have a good night if you wanted but it was quiet enough so that you didn't feel like you were in the middle of Freshers week if you chose to stay in.
I looked after 2 chalets in the L'Ours complex and by and large they were pretty impressive. The pool and sauna isn't the best (the Chalet Des Neige complex has better) but generally it is kept very well and has adequate living space. The bootroom however does leave a little to be desired, there's (just!) enough space for boots and gear but you can pretty much forget trying to put them on in there when everyone else is trying to get to their gear on. There's a couple of couches in the main reception area where people gear up but prepare for an earbashing if the complex manager finds you doing that.
Hope that helped a bit, anything else just PM me.
Cheers!

Cheers for the reply matey......I think you confirmed what I wanted, 2000 sounds like it'll do just fine!! I didn't want to book us into a centre that had no nightlife at all, and it sounds like it has just enough. I will post your reply onto the facebook group for the others to read as well!!
fanks!!
