A new build of GB has gone live this morning. You'll see a new Videos section has been added, though due to some teething problems during deployment, the actual Upload part of this section has been temporarily disabled. I wanted to get the site back up as its already been down quite a while this morning
I'm working on a solution so at some point later today, you'll be able to start uploading videos. I'll post when this has been added.
There are a few other tweaks, like the navigation strip along the top. I had to change this with the introduction of the new Videos section (and there'll be a few other sections in the near future).

Anyway, apologies for the down time. I'll get the upload video functionality added ASAP today.

You can now upload videos into the new Videos section of the site.

http://www.goneboarding.co.uk/Videos/AddVideo.aspx

Once videos are uploaded, they won't appear immediately. They're first converted (in the background) and then as per Photo uploads, they have to be approved before being published.

Over the course of today there might be a bit of a delay in getting them published, but I hope to have a solution in place by the end of today that will mean each video upload should be converted and checked/published within 15 mins or so.

I like the new menu bar, but think the house Icon should be more "Chalet" style

In which case, keep Boardcast but may put it in quotes or display it as Board-cast so it's easier to spot ?

It's in (single) quotes already The fact that you've mentioned it below though suggests others probably will too..

Is the video playback working ok for you?

I've just updated a few parts of the Gallery.

- The Search feature now returns thumbnails of the images (as per the Video search), rather than just the text caption associated with the image;

- Photos are now shown in the main page, rather than being opened in a popup. The layout of this page is inline with the Video page;

- As per the Videos page, the 'Commenting' feature is also in place against Photos now.

I added an empty comment to a photo by mistake - could we have some way to either remove comments we have added, or test that they are not empty before adding?

thankyou please.

Admins have access to suppress any comments, so I'll sort that one for you.
I'll look at including the option to remove any of your own comments.

the new video section is great!!
cant wait for any "Instructionals", i think that would be a very important section for beginners, as i could not find anything like this (the go-snowboard DVD that comes with the Mcnab book aside) so maybe a section covering the "basics" up to "rec leve"l would be a good resource, that when word spreads could bring a lot more traffic to the site? (not that the forum is exactly unpopular ) i know it would take time but in the end it could have sujects about all the basic questions often asked (over and over) on the forum i.e Boots, Bindings, Boards explained?

just a thought

thanks, and keep up the good work

Andy.
