For the side edge turn the dial to 2. 0= 90* and 4= 86*.
There is a black sticker on both sides with writing on, the one that has the fk sks logo on goes faced own against the base for tuning side edges.
If you need anymore info then please ask.

Not too sure on that one myself. My mate cut his hand quite badly on his when new, mine have never been that sharp!

Hi :-)

I'm no expert, but having watched many videos on the subject, this guy Groundhog574 seems to be the only one who properly explains how to do base edges:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nvq9g39h1Ks&list=UUZ03CWAEobUtHboe4jSjo2g&index=11&feature=plpp_video

He doesn't say what angle to choose in that video, so this diagram from an earlier post is good too:

I think many people rely on the base-edge to be angled professionally once, and just lightly sharpened as this guy does at the end of his video. You can use a tool like he does to do the side edges repeatedly each trip:

As far as I've seen, these are the only 2 good videos on the subject of sharpening....

The second video answers your question about how sharp it should be.

I hope this helps :-)
