Hi All
I am thinking of booking a place on this camp. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that is on this camp, planning on going on it, or have done it in the past.
Any info that anyone can give would be soooooo much appreciated. Im in my 30s and don't want to be at a camp where everyone else are teenagers, and I am planning to go on my own, and want to know do most people book on this as a group or are there others out there in a similar position to me. |

QUOTE (boarderchick - 16/11/2008 @ 20:01) Hi All I am thinking of booking a place on this camp. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that is on this camp, planning on going on it, or have done it in the past. Any info that anyone can give would be soooooo much appreciated. Im in my 30s and don't want to be at a camp where everyone else are teenagers, and I am planning to go on my own, and want to know do most people book on this as a group or are there others out there in a similar position to me. go for it boarderchick- I did it last year and was one of the best weeks I've had both on and off the snow. I'm in the same age bracket as you and was concerned about that- but needn't have been. I also went on my own(as did others) and found the group to be great. The tuition is top notch- the chalet is lovely and the people are great. You can choose your own pace in the evening - if you fancy (or have the energy) to go out there will people to join you - or if you fancy chilling out you'll find the same. Let me know if you have any questions |

Hi Helen and Geebee
I have decided 99% I am booking it. I have phoned Just 4 girls to check for places and am waiting for them calling me back.
Hearing from someone who has been and had the same concerns as me is good enough for me. Thank you, it was just the response I wanted. I am sure I will have some questions and will ask you over time. Thank you again.
Helen, I am intermediate. Which covers such a large spectrum really, so maybe not that much help. I want to go on a girls camp because I want to have fun and improve. I am not into proving I am the best (which I certainly am not), and enjoy helping others rather than showing off. One of those female traits. It will be great if you book on it too, let me know if you do. |

hi guys,
Just for another perspective... i did a camp last year. the tutition was fantastic, however the group was not. i was so disappointed as like you've all said, i expected like minded people and to have a fab time, instead some of the girls were snobbish and therefore split the dynamics, and the rest just didnt bond. I was surprised by this as you kinda think it would be easy to mix, and I like to think Im a pretty frinedly sorta person, but it has put me off ever doing this again.
You could try SCUK - they have a group holiday with much larger numbers , and thirty somethings attend. |

Oh no
Down to 60% sure now. I have been in that position before too, when groups get clicky.
Sometimes all girls together can be great, because there is no matcho stuff so you don't feel so self concious, but on the other hand we can be very bitchy to each other, and lack the male bonding.
Oh what to do..... |

I have decided I am definately booking.
I have just got a call back from them, was very surprised to get called back so soon. They have said the age group booked up so far are mid to late 20s, but does range beyond this. They also said most the people booked are individuals and a few that have booked in 2s.
I have concluded if they are bitchy or clicky I will make the most out of the tuition and get the most out of my boarding and do my own thing in the evening. If they are nice then I will come away with friends and great memories.
At my age I won't be involved in any nasty stuff and I won't let any bitchiness go on around me. |

hey hey,
I'll second the J4G camp.... im heading back to the December one - i did the one in april this year and had an awesome time! i learnt loads, met great people and had a wicked time!
As far as groups go - whatever holiday you go on, you're always at risk of meeting some people you like and some you don't but hey, at the end of the day, just smile and enjoy the boarding!!!
You won't be disappointed at all - i went on my own and didn't find it intimidating! You'll have a superb time - let us all know how you got on! |
