I used a helmet cam I bought for the first time this past season, it wasn't cheap, but the quality on it was dire and the unit itself was fiddly.
After being a little disappointed with it when I got home, I decided to buy a GoPro HD. I've been using it on my bikes, but how much do I wish I'd had this for the past winter season instead!
I realize that it does make it look a bit weird having it mounted on your helmet. But then most people know what they are, and if you get some good footage, who cares?
One other thing I'd noticed is that in one of GoPros own videos that they got some Pros to make, they were actually using the headstrap, while wearing their normal beanies. So you can still wear a beanie and it's a little more low profile.
The other thing I quite like is that you can do some interesting things with the additional mounts. I want to get the suction mount, as I've seen some great shots where it's been stuck onto the snowboard itself, looking back up at the rider. |

Its Friday, its probably raining back home...don't judge yourself too harshly for engaging with the beautiful people of GB!
You should pressure him in to buying one by PMing him daily until he gives in. Then get him to wear a "Chrissy D's Bitch" tshirt every time you hit up the slope! The valleys loves a superstar and with your own cameramen you'll be set!
Be opening an Asda in Gurnos very soon. |

Hmmm I think you're on to something there, sadly, someone has already beaten me to opening that particular ASDA |

QUOTE (Ben E C - 30/07/2010 @ 16:02) I don't think the GoPro would stand up to my rigourous vibration test scenario. It would end up flying off and hitting Chris' mum in the back of the head.
Mounting it to a Rampart Rabbit eh? |
