Is this a suitable board?? :S
Posted 23/08/2010 @ 17:17
I have just started boarding again after previously boarding/learning 5 years ago after injuring my knee at football and am now thinking of investing in a board rather than a different rental every time!
Im about 5 10/11 and 12 stone
Going to mainly be used at mk and interested in freestyle although will poss be used on the mountain (fingers crossed)
This is what Ive been looking at. Also note I live in oxford so can go to ss20 ect to have a chat.
Any feedback?
Thanks

For your height and weight I would probs look at something a little longer.
All the gear...no idea!

I reckon a 157 would be best. I'm an inch shorter and similar weight and prefer 156-158 as my general board.

I think a 157 - 160 would be better for you.
It seems to be quite a 'jib' orientated board mind so might not be as good as other 'all mountain' boards.
I think there are better boards out there although you might struggle to find one at that price range (Atomic Hatchet - £250).

Well I will mainly be using at mk and usually go on a sat when the parks out so thought it might be the way forward and compromise although i totally agree with what your saying.
Ok heres one for you! I will be spending up to 300 max pref lower on a board that will mainly get used at mk on the park but want to hit the mountain for some cruising about a couple times a year.
Anyone else see have any experience of the omatic?
Recommendations?
thanks

DC PBJ (£240), Capita Stairmaster (£249), K2 WWW(£270) and the Nitro SubZero (£290).
All very much on the 'jib' end of the spectrum but if you mainly shred the domes you will do well with any of them.
K2 WWW has a longer effective edge so it still holds it together much better than most when carving the piste. First two are traditional camber boards but the second two have more specific 'jib' rocker tech from their respective companies.
I haven't got any experience with Omatic but they have good roots having been set up by Todd Richards in 2005.

Hi Mate, i would say go for the shorter board 157 ish as you are at MK, if you where mostly using it on the mountain id go longer, it would cope with the speed better.
