for the first time - what a spiritual experience - had some sweet tunes on and was at one with my board. Its not as difficult as I first thought and will save me a bundle of cash in the long run - i would recommend having a go to all who don't already.
Peace be the journey - cool runnings

It's super easy.
The only thing that everyone tends to do the first time (myself included) is use too much wax, meaning you spend ages scraping it all off.

Infact, you can learn to do all board maintenance stuff yourself pretty easily. The only things I ever take my boards in for a service for are base grinds and when you get a mother off a core shot which needs some professional attention.

Ha!

I'm pleased somebody else gets that kick. I always put off waxing my board for ages because I can't be arsed but whenever I do it I'm grinning from ear to ear. It such a good bonding experience and I feel proud getting my board out for a few days afterwards.

I did exactly that. Too much wax first time. Spent about 45 mins trying to get it all off. Not the best idea using a blunt dull scraper either.Ha But we live and we learn i guess.

Also the look from my housemate while i was ironing my snowboard was golden. Could see the WTF!!! in his eyes.

I did my board for only the second time and decided to do both my boards and the wifes and the kids, after 5 boards I lost the spritual experience!

First run after waxing, I went from the top cable car and there is a flat bit to get to the pistes. I must have done the waxing well as aI flew past both my mates!

Wax your board with a bottle of bud with you, a good mate, and a chilling tune whilst looking at the snow falling outside

ENLIGHTENMENT!

Am I the only one who finds it a bit of a chore. I'd almost rather pay someone else to do it

A freshly waxed base is sexy though (in a non-wierd way).

As a scraper I use a set square from a geom kit

I Pepsi challenged it against a purpose based Dakine scaper

I couldn't be arsed, took it to TSA and now they close at 7pm so I can't get there to get it back.

It is satisfying when the base looks all slick and you think yeah... I did this

So I took my newly waxed board to the chill factor and holy mother of all things snowboarding - my board was super slick. I know some may say I was looking for it but no way did I expect the way I cruised at velocity on my first run it was awesome. I have never had the same kinda feeling when Ive had it waxed at shops - it must have been the love that went into it!!!!

I had a wicked night hit the box although I just couldn't get the board slide off (the end of the box came to quick!!!) but I rocked on the rails including a three cranked rail and the kicker served me well tonight not necessarily the jump but my landings were sweet - you know when you just land with ease and it feels 'gentle'

Rock on - cant wait till next week.

Wax your own board - its the future
Peace be the journey - cool runnings
