I've been riding for ayear now and could link turns after my first day. I have progressed a hell of a lot since, but still consider myself a beginner although an "advancing beginner"

Have a look at the Atomic Hatchet - some really good reviews and highly rated amongst all from beginners to advanced riders

Atomic hatchet looks a good recommendation - what about bindings to go with it?

hey thats cool! just coulda been a possibility that you had one! if you can try and demo a few boards and you'll get a feel of whats good and what isn't. it's the best way to find out whats good for you. try something that is soft as softer boards are generally more forgiving and more fun. i heard the Burton Blunt is meant to be a good board that will last quite a while (it won this season's goodwood award, big snowboard award thing run by Transworld, they pick the top ten boards they tested for this coming season, plus my mates got one and he really likes it.) however there are some cheaper boards that are pretty good, Ride Kink is pretty good and will last you a while, fairly cheap now sales are on to, K2 anagram, Ride Agenda, Burton Clash... theres loads out there, just try as much as you can!
