Many thanks stuey, not heard of that site before i will check it out now.....

Vimeo is a more specialised website than youtube, you dont get all the random crap pictures of babies falling over shot on camera phones on there, its more for 'real' films. Plus its much much better quality when uploaded, hd actually still looks like hd quality rather then compressed pixelated crap you get on youtube.

Did have a quick look and 1st impressions is ok i will join it later

I can understand you tube crunching files down to the min as it would use so much bandwidth but given time would this vimeo site do the same if it gets as big as you tube?

Its a shame really as it would be nice to actually see the vid shot in hd shown in hd

just out of interest nick, how long has that site been up and running? i mentioned it to someone else and just like me they were clueless

Vimeo has been running a while now. I started using it when youtube started muting my videos due to copyright. Much better quality.

in fairness to youtube it wasn't them getting arsey it was the big music publishing companies who owner the rights to the music, they were asking youtube to pay a fee. ironic considering those same companies uploads their own music videos to the site.

I would recommend it for video, but I will warn you that the delay on taking stills is agonisingly long. I have really been struggling to catch action shots, although I will say that once it does focus and snap, the stills look great.

For £150 I think its a great deal, you cant the world for that price but its a nice point n shoot cam.

I just wish it was waterproof! Would also be nice if you could shoot without the viewfinder open but meh, what ya gonna do

Yeah that's the graphics card in your computer not having enough video memory to be able to play back such large files.

yeah i was wondering what the problem was because its only a year old and its pretty fast processor and RAM wise

got a GeForce 5200, that definitely the problem?

processor and memory dont have much effect on video playback its all about the graphics card and the video ram it has installed.
