I have a Kodak Zi6 that I bought last year off Amazon for £90. Litle hand sized point and shoot (flip-esque) type thing that takes SDHC cards.

I only wanted it for Snowboarding. We took it to Breck last year and I (and my wife) used it to shoot a lot of footage in 720p at both 30 and 60 frames per second.

Playback direct from the device to the TV is good, and doing all the editing via Adobe Premiere I was able to save the edited file as an HD video which I now play back through my PS3, which looks great.

Only downside to the camera is the zoom isn't great, other than that, great little bit of Kit for 90 notes.

Also uses rechargable AA batteries (supplied with charger) which is nice. Means if the internal batt runs out you can just replace with some Duracel till you get back to charge = No lost filming because teh battery died.

I used to love samsung and we are on our second camera, unfortunately this one is crap as the batteries keep dying either overcharging or totally flat we are on the third battery unit and the camera is less than a year old, £17 a pop hurts

I bought a Sanyo CG10 ready for my trip to Austria

I love the camera! The video quality is really good. It sports a pistol style grip with a 3" lcd viewfinder. Hopefully the pistol grip will make it easier to shadow mates down the slope. 5x OPTICAL zoom on it too, which actually comes out really well

Heres a sample vid when I took it straight out of the box, havent messed with any settings on it yet. It was also in really low light conditions.

play.com sell these cams for £150. Everywhere else seemed to be £200+

That's probably more down to the graphics processing Chris? Does your computer have a HD graphics card?

Yeah that's the graphics card in your computer not having enough video memory to be able to play back such large files.

Ive never understood the point in shooting in HD to put it on youtube. Youtube compressed the files so much it becomes lower than standard def quality let alone HD. If you want to keep the quality then put it on vimeo instead

Wayne I've been looking at the Xacti CG10 or the Xacti CA9 waterproof version. Would you recommend it?
