if im riding down a slope id rather the people who are coming up behind me were looking where they were going instead of looking at a headsup view of their goggles trying to see how fast they're travelling.
This is no different that using your phone will driving in my opinion. |

Not quite the same thing, the goggles use more of a heads-up display, projected image you dont have to concentrate on positioning another object like a phone to get access to the information. Aircraft and military vehicles use similar techniques to present their pilots with information in a way which minimalises any distraction. I'm more likely to be distracted by staring at a female behind on the piste |

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! If this is where the sport is headed to, I'd rather give up.....did anyone see the end of the demo video on the website? Where it lists the features that are 'coming soon'? No doubt on the new improved version that make these goggles yesterdays news.....tacky and wrong.....just my opinion.... |

it has potential ,
i dont care to know how fast im going or anything but id like it for buddy tracking and such .
many times where ill be riding with friends and we loose someone in a tree , or if your meeting people and come late would be sick to be able to get hold of them by some kind of walkie talkie set up with the goggles.
lets be honest though theres never gonna be enough people to own these goggles for that to become a reality . |

I like the look of these. Would be pretty cool if they could integrate some sort of comms device as well. |

I've been all over the world, Ibiza, Magaluf, Blackpool etc and Tamworth was by far the best for snowsports!! It's intense man!!! You're totally gripped when you're at the top and looking down...

Aircraft and military vehicles use similar techniques to present their pilots with information in a way which minimalises any distraction. I'm more likely to be distracted by staring at a female behind on the piste Although the video makes it look like its a HUD, as seen in Military vehicles and now some road cars... when you actually look in the product gallery, it looks more like it's just a tiny screen that's in the bottom corner of one of your goggles, meaning you can shift your eyes focus to concentrate on it, rather than it being like a HUD that's projected into the goggle itself.
Again, I'd also say that it's not shown (so I'm guessing it's not there) anyway to actually navigate using the GPS, it looks like it's just a GPS logger so that you can see where you have been afterwards.
So overall functionality, it's not very impressive and a bit like a cycle computer which you can't use to navigate.
I noticed Garmin brought out a Skiing/Riding specific Edge model this past season, and if it's similar to the Forerunner and Edge then it would actually be useful, albeit it doesn't have the fancy display this does. |
