Riding in the domes is a completely different environment, much more enclosed and personal. You tend to get a lot of cliques rifding the domes too and if you f*ck up, everyone can see. How much freestyle have you done on the mountain? It may be that you don't have a fear of the dome, just a fear of the park In which case you probably don't like the fact that you have to look like a "noob" again. We all hate it mate, we get the same feeling when we ride switch or try any new aspect of our sport that we particularly suck at. Conclusion: keep at it and it will come. Organise a group on here if you need friends to ride with, I find riding in a group helps settle me and spur my riding on.

Peace.

Yeah,I fell over on the rope tow at Tamworth the other day and it felt like the whole place was watching me. I just got up thought ah wtf and laughed at myself and carried on regardless.Youre only human mate. .

Haha brilliant - You can't be blamed when your triceps have been forcibly removed from your body after 2 hours of using the rope.

We rode one of the longest button lifts I could have imagined on the Hintertux - to which my mate has an inate fear of failing at - sure enough he came through and sh*t out about half way along. Being directly behind him I was p*ssing myself and managed to fall off within about 10 seconds.

My own fault for trying to be a smart ass doing a 180 onto the track below the rope, reached out and grabbed for the rope and missed it completely and crashed in a heap like a noob.

It's best just to laugh at yourself and plod along - it makes no odds as everyone f*cks up at some time!

I would say I'm one of the better riders at the dome these days and I fall over all the time. Its part of progression, if your not falling over your not trying hard enough.
Of course if your not falling over that could also mean you dont fancy trying new things, which is cool too. But if your after new tricks, your either going to look really gay the first few times, or bail. (unless its a 720 progressing through from a 5, in which case its just natural progression. I'm on about the first times you try and land a 3 and so on)

Book on one of the Maverix or Definition freestyle day courses ... that'll get your confidence up. I did a day last year @ MK & it was a huge amount of fun and made me more confident to try things at the dome
