Hey all,
I've been riding since the end of March, but so far only at my local snowdome (chillfactore). Can't wait for the season to start, but I'm wondering where is best for me to look at?
I'd still say I'm a beginner; comfortable making turns and starting to get a few bits of switch riding in place, and hit my first low boxes a couple of weeks back.
I think I'm looking for somewhere I'll be able to get some lengthy runs in, having never experienced that before; and maybe a bit of park stuff to try.
Also; currently I'm riding a Burton Hate which was very much marketed as a jib board; do I need to look at getting something more all mountain focussed before I go?
Cheers! |

I guess pricewise I'd say arounbd £500 per person for the trip with the girlfriend; for the mates trip maybe a bit less but then less likely to be fussed about accomodation etc |

that's a very tight budget.
£200 quid for accomodation £200 for lift pass £100 for flights.
nothing left for food/wine/gummy bears!
It can be done, but not with any degree of comfort.
i am paying £275 for a week in Courcheval fully catered, my flights are £84, lift pass is £220 and then around £65 for transfers. so even before i take into account i have spent almost £650.

Me and a mate are going to be looking at going away somewhere too if anyone has any recommendations.
Any good websites for boarding packages? |

Ah I wasn't meaning with food/booze in with that; though it still looks a bit tight anyway. I'll have to have a look at what extra I can squeeze out.
Thanks for the breakdown example though! |

Way back in 2005, I used a company called "Tignes Express"...
They started as a budget package holiday company, specialising in Tignes. Shortly after they changed their name to Outgoing Ski - here's the site: http://www.outgoingski.co.uk/
I haven't used them since, but the holiday I had with them was pretty good, no complaints.
At the time they were based around coach travel - probably more options available now, could be worth a look...

I've had some awesome deals in the past with lastminute.com. Can't fault them really - a week in Myerhofen (march)for £350 half board, a week in Meribel (New years day onwards) for £350 half board so can't be bad. Leave about £150 - £180 for lift pass and usually no more than £60 - £85 for kit hire in resort. If your paying more, your paying too much! |

You should go someewhere that has easy access to the more progressive runs - Val d'Isere is good for that - although expensive! Les Arc is also good, as is Les Gets (portes de Soleil). I like Austria! Myerhofen is absolutely mental and will give you a lot for your money. Mental for partying as well! |

Or go to Andorra. Lots of variety, loads of easy blues, massive terrain area covered on the Granvalira pass.
Me an my mates went there for our first proper "Outing".
You still get the nightlife but a darn site cheaper than the bigger French resorts if you're on a budget.
Heres a link to the Granvilara Website |

Thanks for all the suggestions; having a look through them all now. When's the best time to book, incidentally, is it better waiting for a last minute deal or just getting it in early? |
