Right guys im guessing there will be someone with the necessary knowledge.....

whats the best way to get footage doing runs?! guessing some steadi cam thingy?! or is there sumat out there which is good to beat the shacky movements (dont mean static filmed shots either)

Its always fun watching yourself back or at least for improvement purposes!

Cheers

The resolution isn't all that great on that wrist camera although I wouldn't expect it at the price.....and you can also get 20% off.

I bought a Sanyo Xacti WH1 waterproof 720p HD camera. The footage below was taken stationary, but shows you the quality it can produce. You can find it for under £300.

Is that aimed at my post?

I had the honour of watching back some 'historic' footage from the GB rejects trip to slovakia last night. There was some very poor technique on display!!

Can't quite remember who was wearing a very bright flouro orange get up (both jacket and trousers - looked like the Tango doll) who ever it was sure did take some big falls from the small kicker at Stresbo.

Not conciously, your post did kind of inspire it I guess
Can I put it this way?...I enjoyed the film more when you zoomed out

I'll tell Ralph as I was the rider.

He did tell me he worried about his shaky hand, that will be lost in the proper edit.

The Hotly anticipated production of 2010 from the Backstreet Productions film studio is making good progress. Hoping for an early March release date........ 'Journey' will feature action from across Europe and include guest starring sequences from some of the freshest UK riders.

I have a similar problem when I get people to film me- I get close in to the feature and try to capture the action, then on the next run pass the camera over as they try to film me from 20 metres away.

Most decent cameras have a shake reducing feature in it. The one we use does and there is no need for any add ons.

A wide angle lens is good for the follow cam bits and you can get in nice and close.
For the distant rider coming in close your better with no added lends and a tripod.

Keep your hand off the zoom! Try and set the zoom up first then leave it. There is nothing that ruins a shot more than someone adjusting the zoom constantly.

Also remember that everything is much bigger on the big screen. Don't worry too much about the size of the subject on the wee camera viewer. The finished product on you 50" plasma will look much better!
