Booked 1x suitcase to go under plane (20kg).
Booked 1x snowboard to go under plane (?kg).
EasyJet website says we have a total of 32kg to use (suitcase + snowboard) - wtf?
Do they expect a snowboard and case to weigh 12kg or something? I've got my board, bag, snowboard pants/jacket and crash pants and it's weighing 25kg.
We need to fill the suitcase up to 20kg limit! - so what the f*ck do they expect me to do... cut the board in half so it only weighs 12kg?
Confusing! Weird how you can pay 18.50 and you get a whopping 12kg to use, when 20kg of suitcase costs 9 pounds?

Unfortunately your calculations are correct.
20Kg for the main case and 12 for the board bag.
That said, I'd be surprised if that was all you had in the board bag and it weighed that much. I pack my Low Roller with Board, Boots, Pants, Jacket, Hoodies, Socks, Impact Shorts, T-shirts, Gloves, Guards (and a lot more) to the degree it hardly shuts and it only weighs in at 12 - 14 Kg.
What are you weighing it on? |

As mentioned on a couple of other threads.... Book a boardbag on its own and you get 32kg's
Can you book a bag with one person and just the boardbag on your ticket?? |

What I do is throw everything in my boardcase. The easyjet website sates that you are allowed an extra 12kg for sports equipment doesn't say nothing about putting it in one case. I've not had any problems they just put a heavy sticker on it for the baggage handlers |

So what I am reading is telling me that in future my girlfriend and I need to make separate bookings.
The problem being that as we are 2 people, and we added 1x luggage and 1x snowboard, we now only get 32kg in total.
Whereas if it were separate bookings she'd get 20kg for the booked in hold baggage, and I'd get 32 for the snowboard stuff...
Seems ridiculous.
Anyhoo we're off to the airport now so will report back later about whether we got into a fight or not with the check in staff! |

Often over looked is that you get weight allowance for hand luggage. Last time I checked it was 10kg per person. Sack off the magazines and other crap like that and fill up with essentials  |

I've been all over the world, Ibiza, Magaluf, Blackpool etc and Tamworth was by far the best for snowsports!! It's intense man!!! You're totally gripped when you're at the top and looking down...

No problems in the end.
Her luggage was about 19kg, my board was about 18kg - so 'over' the allowance but they didn't say anything - just gave me the tag and told me to go to oversized luggage.

When I fly Easyjet, I usually take my Dakine High-Roller which is big as far as board bags go. You should be able to get everything you need in it for a holiday.
Then everything else I need as hand luggage.
Even if you do take an extra suitcase, I personally wouldn't worry too much about the board bag. I've usually found that they don't actually bother to weigh the board bag at the checkin desk, they usually just give you the tag or come around and put it on.
It's only when you get to the oversize luggage scanner that its weight is shown and they aren't part of Easyjet and aren't going to care.
Just make sure its below 32kg which is the max they are allowed to lift. |

Just been researching this myself as I am worried about the number of boards in a a single bag...
According to Easy Jet if you have booked 1 x Hold Luggage and 1 x Sports Equipment, you will have 32kg allowance. It doesn't matter what the split is though - your sports equipment can weigh 18kg and your hold luggage 14kg.
But the airline has to conform to Health and Safety regs - so no single item can weigh more than 23kg (as this is the maximum permissible lift-able load).

However, the above aside, Last year I remember reading that some airlines are getting arsey about two boards being transported in a single case.
My wife and I are booked on Easy Jet and have paid for 1 x Hold luggage each and 1 x Sports equipment each, but don't want to drag too much out with us and would be happy with one hold bag and 1 high/low roller containing all our kit for the holiday.
Does anyone know about any restrictions with regards to carrying two boards in one bag? |

Good old EasyJet. Last season we flew out and booked zero x "hold luggage", and one set of "sports equipment" each (so that was £18.50 cost rather than £19 for hold luggage each).
At the check in desk we got some wierd looks, but all went in fine.
Of course everything was packed into a single board bag each. I don't remember there being any weight limit at the time for "sports equipment", I've often brought back alpine liquor and savoie sausages and god knows what else on the return trip too 
So I can totally understand why they frown upon people putting multiple boards in a single bag - they miss the opportunity to make another nineteen quid off that passenger  |
