I've never been charged either, thought there was a 10kg winter sports allowance per person? My board bag weighed 25kg's with them when I came back last Sunday, they didn't say a thing. OK the bag only arrived back on Weds but that's not the topic here!

This does seem to be fairly new .Ive never been charged with EasyJet before.
What happens to flights already booked ?
Will they then charge you at the airport or does it apply to flights being booked from now on.
I have always praised EasyJet as being the best low cost carrier but if this is the case then they too will go down in my estimation..

Im Afraid i can confirm the £10 for carriage for snowboards as my wife works for them.
I belive it wont affect you if you booked the flights before today (thats what im hoping anyway).
Get ready for a fight at the airport otherwise.

just seen it on the website, just before you confirm the booking, cant complain to much as there are the last people to do it.

its funny that we moan about a tenner for our bags and then go and have a scummy sandwich and a crappy latte that costs more.

can't believe they are starting to charge!!! it was the one BIG plus point about travelling with easyjet. I have taken snowboard and golf clubs away and never been charged - one of the main reasons i flew easy jet!!!

i suppose though £10 is still alot cheaper than the £17 that ryanair charged me last time

Suppose it was inevitable but still...thats an extra £40 for me if I go edinburgh to luton to geneva and back again. My flexible friend will have to bend a bit more

I think it was inevitable that this charge would be introduced but is it such a bad thing?

I been behind guys checking in golf bags, snowboards, surfboards etc in the past and they've been charged the overweight premium per kilo

Guess I'd rather pay £10 rather than £x amount per kilo

They'll still charge you per kilo if your luggage is over weight. The 10kg sports equipment allowance used to be free, now it looks like that is what the extra tenner pays for. My mate had a total of 43kg at New Year and was charged over £50 each way (although he got away with it on the return by taking on loads of hand luggage).

Unfortunately it's £20, £10 each way. I just booked a flight and didn't pay it - hope it's ok.
