  #1  Cheap weekend away - any suggestions?  Posted 18/02/2010 @ 12:31
Hi all,

Myself and a few peeps (5 ish in total) are looking for a cheap long weekend away somewhere.

So far I've had a look at Snowcoach (who I've been with before and are great - but dont do the dates we need) and SkiWeekends who also have a few fairly good deals.

» We're not bothered about night life, just want to ride.
» Can go end March/Start April
» Catered would be preferable but not required

Any suggestions on where else I could look?

Cheers,

Pete

The way things are at the minute you might want to look at Scotland.

Yesterday at Glencoe:

We stayed a night at the Crianlarich Hotel for £40 B&B (Double Room). This included a shuttle to the slopes in the morning and a return pickup at night (free of charge) and we were allowed to stay checked into the room all day on teh Thursday and get a shower etc when we got back from riding.

The staff were super nice, the food was good, they had a band on in teh evening and we could even buy our lift passes at the front desk meaning straight up teh hill in the morning.

Cant speak highly enough about the service and defo falls into your much cheapness category.

I believe they also do pickups/dropoff from the train station in Crianlarich if you got the train up.

Hotel Melezes in tignes with mountain sun is the perfect location for an April weekend. Deal is (or at least it was the last three years) 99 quid half board for three nights including transfer. Amazing deal since transfers to tignes normally cost about 70 on it's own.

Little cottages don't cost the earth either. You can pick up a small 2 bed cottage for £300 for a week.

Hi Pete,

If you end up looking for anywhere next season, we do really cheap hostel style accommodation in Les Arcs with loads of awesome facilities! We don't set a minimum booking period either.
