I think to teach in France with CASI is virtually impossible. If you're heart is set on teaching in France then BASI is the way to go (still not easy mind).
I want to teach in Canada or the US so I'm going for CASI. |

Probably only let BASI in to comply with european regulations... I'm sure they wouldn't if they didn't have to |

Yep that is true. To work in France you MUST be BASI ISIA, they do not even recognise CASI Level 4! Ive spoken with the Departmental of Jeusse et youth in france who are the law, plus i contacted most Snowboard/ski schools in France and they only recruit BASI instructors as CASI is not allowed. It has no bearing on the level of quality of CASI just the french being well.. french!
So in light of all this ive scrapped my CASI course as to be honest my goal is france!
Is it true that its only the brits who are fighting france in european courts to acknowledge SB? hence why there is a concession to allow ISIA only in? |

Slight change of direction, but just wondering if anyone knows there's anything to stop a CASI-qualified instructor teaching independently of a ski school in France, or elsewhere? Obviously you wouldn't be able to use the ski school lanes on lifts, and I'm guessing there may be liability insurance issues (I know CASI membership includes insurance for teaching, but dunno if you have to be employed by a ski school), but is there anything else? |

You cannot work in France whatsoever unless you have full ISIA qualifications. If caught on the hill teaching you're likely to be arrested. |

Presumably you don't get arrested if you're teaching your mates, so how would they know that you might be teaching people who weren't your mates? |

Rob if they keep seeing you 'helping' different people every week, im sure they would put 2 and 2 together.
I think you would find yourself on sketchy ground. Even if you did go to different quiet hill areas you still have to get nervouse possibly first time boarders up there |

Surely it's not illegal to have loads of different mates coming out to see you on a weekly basis, all of whom need some guidance on their boarding technique? Those damn Frenchies... |
