Has anyone used the new 2012 Batleon boards who also used the older ones? More importantly does anyone own one of the new ones that has owned an older version?

Im asking because i currently have the 08 Goliath, and was looking to buy a Gnu Riders choice, but having had a go on my mates sims board yesterday at Xscape im not so sure that i want to go back to normal based boards, i think i like the smoothness of the TBT too much (however his board is old and not so good,so i will be demoing some good boards next week) but my only gripe with my current Goliath is that i feels a tad too dull for day to day riding, a bit heavy (it is a 161W so its a big board though) and not a huge amount of pop for flat land stuff.
So any of you who have used the new one for a decent period of time can you tell me if they have improved on these areas? I have read all the technical jargon etc, but that means nothing compared to actually riding the thing...so ????

I've recently switched from the 10/11 goliath to the 11/12 goliath. Very impressed with the new board... and I really liked the 10/11 version.

It's much faster, lower profile and feels more playful.

Plenty of pop as well... a joy to use IMO.

Did you size up or down at all with the new one?
Im asking Because i have a 161w but they dont offer the new one in 161w, only in 160w and 163w and i reckon i would have to go for the 160w because a 163w would be too big, i feel that my 161w is already a bit of a boat.

I went for the same size.

I'm riding a 161... not the wide.

From my limited knowledge of wide boards, they generally feel heavier and less easy to turn than the standard width versions.

Can you not take on for a trial run at a snowdome?

Yeah i will be, but an hour using one in the dome will only tell me a little of what i want to know. And unfortunately being a size uk 10.5 i need to use a wide board

Big feet = wide board. The extra lever effect of your tootsies and heels being out over the edges will counter any slow edge to edge effect. Don't worry about it, wide boards do not suck anymore
