March should be fine in most places but if you want to go in April you will need to head higher than Bulgaria to be sure. Any of the Glacial resorts, Tignes is great in April

generally nick you'd be right, but you never know these days - weathers all over the place. We chanced bansko mid april last year and had the most snow ive seen in years. like off-piste on the pistes. they stopped botherin to bash the pistes it was dumpin so hard. luck of the draw

i'd probably avoid Bulgaria from March onwards personally, i was there in late February a couple of years ago and the cover wasnt that brilliant, although ok on piste. Like the other guys have said though, luck will play a part - you could get great conditions!
You could always get up to Aviemore for a few days at Cairngorm, its awesome just now and fingers crossed we will get a great season into April or even later.

We went in march last year to Pamporovo mid month only day we never had any snow was first day. We had snow every day after that.
We had over 8" of snow over night on the last day.
But as our instructor said while we were there it can be hit and miss with march.
We are going back this year on march the 13th so we will post what it was like this year.

Went to Bansko last march and had some pretty good snow but the black runs were dead icy with very little powder. Off piste was pure powder of course and you can make some ace runs through the trees.
the week we got back it pelted down and the town was covered along with the slopes so its all about the luck of it really but that lasted until the end of march
