Hi All,

Planning a trip to Les Arcs in January, taking the ski train and considering staying in Bourg St Maurice instead of slope-side. Any advice or suggestions please? Have never been before.

You'll love it.

If you're staying in LA, the hardest part is the walk down the insanely long train platform with your gear to get to the ticket office.
If I recall the snow train arrives at 7ish. The lift office for the Les Arcs funi at the end of the station opens at 8.30ish. You can get your lift passes there, then get the funi railway up to the lower Les Arcs stations (1800 etc..) on your lift pass.

If staying in Bourg, ask tourist info in the main station building for a map. There are tons of options within the town, but unless you have a car, the only way up to the mountain is on the funi or by catching the buses that go up the long twisty way.

Best place I stayed at in Bourg itself is sadly no more
