I was wondering if anyone knew of any boardercross events in Scotland and if so, does anyone know what the requirements are to be able to enter.
If in doubt, flat out.

At the moment there are a couple of gully runs at Glenshee (One at the bottom of Coire Fionn and one on the Cairnwell side between Butcharts and Cairnwell) that with the snowfall and the cold temps have set up like natural Bordercross tracks. Lots of high walls for banked turns and plenty of hits on the way through (not that I have teh ability to do anything fancy over them!).

If you're up and about anyway it's probably as close as you'll get and they are really good fun.

Last years was in Braehead as I was 'thinking' of entering the Masters category until I saw it was up there.

They used to have them - there was an event when I went up there in 99 - maybe the Olympics coverage will give it a bit of a revival.

Cairngorms have shaped a boardercross course in years gone by.

Allt Sneachda at Nevis would also make an interesting run as a boardercross blast.

Ive competed in Austria in an army competition ( Royal engineer corps championships) as a novice and was seeded 10th in the entire competition( 70 people in all from novice and senior categories). Came first overall in my category and i pissed all over the majority of the seniors. Absolutely love boardercross and reckon i would stand an ok chance if there were any competitions i could enter. I was asked if i could stay on after the Corps championships in Austria to compete in the army championships but i couldn't get the funding for it which was really gutting. Was just thinking if there is any races closer to home why not see about entering to see how i do.
If in doubt, flat out.

Yea was up there on friday and Sunday mate. They are ok but its not the same as ripping it down a real boardercross run

Any idea about how one would go about entering? and any idea about dates?
would probably need to wait till next season unless its at the end of the snow season as i just snapped my collarbone up at glenshee a couple of days ago... but it should be healed up enough to take more punishment in 2 months.
If in doubt, flat out.

The Boarder-X is usually September/October. I think 2008 was held in MK.
