There's been a bit of snow in the Alps, so do what I've done and book the week off, then hang on until the weekend.
Mayrhofen, Meribel, Zermatt, St. Anton and Ischgl are on my list, with CC/HB packages coming in at £300-400.
L2A and La Plagne chalet packages can be had for £199-229. |

Nice.... Banff Springs is castle-like.... Ask not to be in the new section if possible... Bring your swimmers, the pool is lush and has a sweet view.... Great for an apres beer!
That place is $100+/night even with a deal, so that is a good package price
p.s.... Our snow does not suck right now either! |

Switz is sh*te like most of Europe! Laax was fun in the slush but like everywhere isn't worth the money and was only there last weekend. Drove back through Switzerland and the whole place is suffering. Gstaad and that area is in the words of Brad Pitt "proper f***ed!!"
Morzine is again fun but unless you want to lap the park it's no longer worth it. Super Morzine is closing today as the run is now bare arse - getting to Avoriaz is now only via the Prodains cable car. God knows what Les Gets is like - most have shut about a month ago as last time I rode it is was even worse than the Super Morzine area!
Ridge Hotel is also shutting on 31st March - seems like it will be an early finish in the majority of the French Alps. If you must go this April, head to a Glacier resort. Val Thoren, Tignes, Les Deaux Alps in France that kind of thing. Austria had the best snow all season imo. Neustift is a little town about 30 mins from Innsbruk with cheap accomodation and you can then use the Stubai glacier about another 30mins drive up the valley. Good conditions all season there. I was there first week of April last year and it was quiet but wicked spring shredding! |

Just to reinforce what was said about Banff area in April.... Around a metre of fresh in the last 7 days.... 10cms+ on our deck this morning!
(Just a shame I wasn't around to ride it!..... Bring on tomorrow!) |
