Ok, so I've been down dry slopes a couple of time in the past but really wanna get snowboarding on proper snow, so here I am asking your opinions on where would be the best slope for a novice like me? Thanks. |

If you are going abroad then La Plagne has a lot of blues so you can get about a fair bit without having to go down anything too steep. There are a few areas that are too flat for a novice so would involve a bit of unclipping and shuffling along but once you know where they are they're easy to avoid. |

Get to Banff, Loz-face, and then do the Angel Green Run at Sunshine Village. I think it's called Route 105, or something. It is fantastic, with only a slight flat spot, that you can beat if you get enough lick early on. It was my first time out there, and after my mates had taken me on a blue run (called Wah-Wah) for the first of the holiday, the Angel was a dream.
All told, the holiday was £380 for seven days, with lift pass coming out at about £250.
The best money I have EVER spent. |

I went to Les Arc in February after only an all day lesson at the MK fridge.
We had a ski pass that gave us access to all ski lifts both at Les Arc and Plagne.
Started off and spent most of the week at Les Arc, where there are plenty of gentle blues to get you started and the confidence up and they lead onto some fantastic reds.
By the end of the week, I had made it upto Aiguille Rouge (the peak) and took the black run down!! That was abit hairy, but was such a buzz... The run down from to the bottom was great, even followed a couple of friends off piste...
I had the best week ever and there is something for all level of riders, I am sooooooooo hooked, cant wait to get back out later this year.

Thanks to all your replies. They're all very useful. I'm looking to be heading out to Canada next year for a year and Banff was on my list of places to go. I'm looking into coaxing some friends to go for a trip at the end of the year so these ones are going to be looked into. I'm just needing to find places that offer decent classes.

Maybe I prefer Canterbury for a beginner like you. This also accommodate a cheaper snowboard packages. |
