#1  Best Albums from Snowboarding Soundtracks?  Posted 09/08/2006 @ 13:13
Hey,

has anyone bought an album based on a good song from a snowboarding film and found that the album/band is really good?

I bought Bloc Party's "Silent Alarm" last year based on the track Banquet and think it's pretty damn good. I've been meaning to get The Postal Service's "Give Up" based on their version of Such Great Heights for ages... I bought that last week and that's really good too.

Any others?

I got the Dogs Die in Hot Cars album after hearing Celebrity Sanctum on Futureproof, I think thats the only one i've physically bought. I've downloaded countless 'one off' songs from vids though, some of my favourites are;
The Cars - 'Just What I needed' (Afterbang)
Talking Heads - 'Once in a Lifetime' (Afterbang)
Modest Mouse - 'Float on' - Ended up downloading the Good news for people who like bad news album which has a couple of really cool tracks 'Ocean Breathes Salty and 'World at Large' (POP)
TV Eyes - 'She's a study' (White Balance)
Souls of Mischief - '93 Till Infinity' (True Life)
Interpol - 'Obstacle 1' (White Balance)
American Anolog Set - 'Hard to Find' (White Balance)
Teddybears - 'Yours to Keep' (Afterlame)
Seaweed - 'Go your Own Way' (Full Metal Edges)
Eight Dayz - 'Whats so strange about me?' (Afterlame)
The Knife - 'Heartbeats' (original J.Gonzalez!) (Afterlame)
Wes Makepeace - 'War is Hell' (POP)
Felix Da Housecat - 'Ready to Wear' (Afterlame)
Twisted Sister - 'I Wanna Rock' (The Resistance)
They're all on my iriver at the mo!
