Revision #2 (Last edited: 28/01/2012 @ 19:24)
I've finally admitted to myself that my old K2 Nemesis has had it and am looking for a new board.
Annoyingly I had pretty much settled on the K2 Slayblade as its replacement but after talking with seveal guys at TSA I'm now torn between the Slayblade and the Bataleon Jam. (With the Burton Custom Flying V just a little behind that).

I'm looking for a mid stiff (or possibly stiff) board that won't lose it's edge when riding hard on icy surfaces, I can't trust the edge on my Nemesis as the board flexes too much and pops the edge out. It'll have to be a fast board as I quite enjoy a bit of pace and be good both on the piste and in the pow too.

Anyone out there ridden both of these or can give me a lowdown on the relative merits of them? The reviews online for Jam say how amazing the TBT on the Bataleon is whereas the Slayblade reviews all say how awesome the flat board rides! Surely they both can't be right...or can they?

All help appreciated...

I've checked both out and am going to go for the Slayblade.
It feels like it holds an edge more reliably and is a pretty special bit of kit.

I demo'd the slayblade in the dome and really liked it. Never had one on the mountain but it felt like it would be good for charging around. It still had a playful feel to it. which was nice.

I ride the K2 lifelike and really like the flatline tech. I thought the Slayblade would be a bit too much board for the riding I do, but if you're an all out speed freak then it would suit you fine. I couldn't find anywhere to demo a Bataleon and I've heard they're a bit like marmite with the TBT so decided to give it a miss.

MK is a bit of a trek for me now, Hemel is closer but the only bataleon they had when I was there was far too long. I tried one 2 yrs back and didn't like it much at all, I understand that they have changed them now but I'm too happy with the lifelike to care that much!!
