That sounds like a blast Iggie. Things always seem so much better when they're a bit random and just come together on their own.

What are people's plans for this season? I've got 5 days at the beginning of Jan but I'd like to get away sometime in March too. My January buddy can't make a second trip so I'm think of going somewhere solo. Something like you described seems like an ideal result. It would take the guesswork out of who you were going to ride or share a beer or two with.

Well at the moment me & my OH are planning a cheeky early season week "wherever it's snowing" at the very end of Nov / start of Dec. Maybe Europe or the US or Canada, very much depends on the weather. Then we plan to try to get away with as many of the crew that can make it in probably late Jan, nothing planned yet though, again gonna see where it's snowing in Europe & try to get there - we'd normally do 2 weeks in the US or Canada but for various reasons not many folks can do that this coming season. Then me & my OH might try to get away late season too but surprise surprise nothing planned yet ...

I think this next season is going to be mostly unplanned

Where you off to in Jan? Might give us some extra ideas and we might gate crash

I went to risoul in france march this year on my own, it seemed to be a student week which was cool and me being a student made some cool mates and had alot of beers! It was pretty cheap too!

Conditions were great and it dumped half way through the week leaving some sweet powder to shred! I also had lessons which cost €90 for six 2 hours lessons. which basically meant i had a personal guide everyday for two hours! Should definitely check it out! It would be cool if i had someone to travel with this season coming.

We're going to Passo Tonale in Italy for January. Flying on the 3rd. It's the cheapest time everywhere as I guess everyone is cleaning up after Christmas and New Year and it's not a full week. We booked it through Fast Track Ski and managed to get a bogof on the lift passes too, so we've got it down to £500 each for everything. It's half board, so just beer money to find. Here's the deal http://www.fasttrackski.co.uk/italy/passo-tonale/flora-alpina-ski-deals-0000667.php
Gate crashers welcome.

I really like the sound of a catered chalet though. I might try and organise one for a March trip if I can round up enough takers.

I'm going to try and make the morning boarding session at Tamworth on the 24th Sept if anybody else from Glos/Chelt can make it and fancy's a lift share. It's £26 for 3 hours. http://www.snowdome.co.uk/ski-snowboard/discount-sessions/

I've got some new Flow bindings that are itching for a try-out.

Hey hey. I'm 23, I guess that's a pretty average age?? I live in Cheltenham. I know couple people in Chelt that board, but I seem to wanna go more than them lol. I work in Birmingham so gunna try going after work for the evening sesh, won't be home til after midnight tho :-s. I normally go Sunday's (Tam) if anyone want's to lift share? Altho car is playing up, hopefully somewhat fixed over the weekend!

I found a place in Italy, Marilleva, (stones throw from lifts, not that I'm lazy or anything :lol looking about 850 plus spends if 5 ppl go, first week of Feb. I was looking at Sweden, but Italy seems easier to get to lol. Now just to find people to go with!

Aha! We seem to be gathering some momentum with the boarders from Gloucester and the surrounding area. (There's an acronym in there somewhere ) Maybe we should try to organise getting together for a couple of hours on a slope and a beer afterwards.

How are people fixed for one evening next week at Tamworth maybe?

Can't do during the week at all due to work We did go for a freestyle sesh at Hemel couple of Fridays ago, that was fun ... although it was a full-on freestyle fest and a total mission to get there (half day off work and round Oxford the traffic just sucks!) When you guys want to start hitting some toys let us know and you're welcome to tag along
