Guys/Girls,

Anyone ever been riding round Lake Tahoe CA? I've got family in Berkley which is only 3 hours away, just speaking to my cus, she seems to rate it but obviously she would.... it's like her Tam, Cas, Chill etc.

Any info/views on it would be greatly appreciated.

Tahoe is immense, possibly my favourite 'area' and one I'll defo head back too. Snow seems to be more like France where it seems to all come at once rather than little and often, but when it comes holy crap does it come. A storm dropping 6ft is pretty standard over there

I worked at Northstar-at-Tahoe last season, and it was pretty much the best thing i have ever done with my life! the area is fantastic, there are plenty of great resorts around the lake, its an area of stunning natural beauty, and one of the most Chilled places i'v ever been! (and apparantly last season was a poor one) oh and pretty good for pickin up cheap gear as i swear porters is having a sale all season long!
Visa permitting i shall be going back there again this coming season, so if you do choose to come out drop me a line, might be able to help you out with some stuff...

There was a large GB group trip that went in 2005. People included Salo, PB, Noobie, em, Rachel, exige, Sharpee, etc. I think there is a video from on the trip on either Rachel or exige's signature.

Def. go!! It is probably my favourite trip away, there are so many fantastic resorts round. Northstar, A Basin and Squaw Valley being my favourites. The slopes are really quiet except at weekends where if the conditions are good, everyone descends on the resorts. The conditions were amazing everywhere when we went

Thanks for the info on this guys, really appreciate it.

I went to Banff this year and we drove to a couple of resorts in BC too but the conditions wern't that great, although the resrots were good. Was looking at going back to BC next season for a trip, would you choose Tahoe over BC?

I stayed at Squaw this year - fantastic.

Make sure you try the run down to the Squaw Valley Resort Hotel, it has a great open air bar by an open air fireplace - awesome apres venue (take the bus back to to village).

Em honey, Arapahoe Basin is in Colorado, getting mixed up there I'm guessing you meant Alpine Meadows?

Tahoe is just superb, I had an amazing time there with the GB group. Given the choice, I would stay at Northstar the whole time, and use that as a base to hit other places on the lake. Nowhere is more than an hours drive away which is excellent.

One recommendation I must make is to go sledding in Rose Valley, was excellent fun

Indeed, Tahoe is an awesome trip and holds fond memories for quite a few GB'ers on here. I second what PB and em said really, just go.

Dont think about it, pack your sh*t up and go.

You still here?

Oh yeah it's summer... still, go anyway it's still probably better than the UK at this time of year as well.

No you didn't offend me....... much! and you know i'd love to ome back to see you guys, but there's also the whole thing with my family being there and my cousin also rides.

I never considered it untill the other day, Iian & Dani, you need to come down to Tahoe, only a few days drive away! I really want to go back to BC but Tahoe does sound pretty freekin cool

If anyone fancies giving me a couple of grand so then can do both it'd be greatly appreciated
