I never considered it untill the other day, Iian & Dani, you need to come down to Tahoe, only a few days drive away! I really want to go back to BC but Tahoe does sound pretty freekin cool

Oooo now there's an idea Jimbo!

Maybe I should factor in a new set of tyres into this winter's budget????

That's the spirit! New set of tyres, couple thousand miles on the clock, share the driving, do it in 2 days.

Blimey, people still talking about that trip!?
I would indeed also rate the place right up there in the list of places to visit in the world to snowboard, you won't be disappointed, unless of course by some random chance the snowgods are not kind to you... but that won't happen, and if they are, just drive to Mammoth - there's always snow there - right until June usually
Maybe we should do a 5year anniversary trip next year, GB10 anyone!? I joke - I will be skint so unless anyone else wants to pay for me... ?? No? ah, balls.

How about ten year anniversary? Or...New Zealand sometime soon? A mere hop skip and jump from you and I have had my eye on it for AGES!

It'd almost be cheaper to fly rather than buy a brand new set of winters!

If you do make the trip to Tahoe, I'll def' check into the feasability of getting down there at some point! I mean if the snow here is epic (as it WILL be) then I can't possibly drag myself away

Lake Tahoe is awesome. I had 15ft in 10 days at Heavenly a few years back, and 5 ft in a week in Kirkwood last season. The only problem is that it's either full-on or not on at all. You can get storms every night for a week... but you can also go several weeks without a proper dump. But if you're staying 3 hours away you can just check the forecast and go if it looks good. Sorted.

A couple of things to note: 1) The snow is often quite wet (has a high water content around 20%) which is great for making snowballs but gets lumpy and packed hard pretty quick. If you're getting 10 inches of fresh a day it doesn't matter, but don't expect that epic 3ft of fresh to be in evidence 3 days later! Of course BC is a bit like that too... 2) Last season was pretty bad because the freeze level was unusually high, so rain fell instead of snow. If that happens head to the higher resorts like Kirkwood. When I was there it was the only one getting snow. But it got alot.
