Never set foot on a snowboard till last Feb when i was offered a free hol to Andorra for a week! (Who's gonna turn that down?) Had a weeks worth of lessons, and without blowing smoke up my own ar*e i was quite good! The problem is i've got the bug now, i don't live too rar from the Chill Factor so i could go there as often as i want and am gonna go on a boarding hol again next year! The thing is i'm 38, and every where i go i see kids who are the same age as my eldest son, and i'm thinking 'am i starting my midlife crisis' I'm fit enough, not overwieght, but if your an old fart like me tell me its ok! I doesn't help that while watching some snowboarding comp on TV the other day someone who was 28 was described as a grandad! |

Get a grip mate, I am 43 and just back from a week in Kaprun with an amazing group of people aged between 20 and 62. I hope I will still be snowboarding in 20 years time. |

Plenty of older blokes out there on a Sunday thinking they can still scissor kick like Mark Hughes (see, showing my age now as well )
So in summary: Go enjoy.
Seems to be an glut of these threads recently. We need a sticky telling people it's okay to be over 30 and still want to have fun !! |

We just returned from Kaprun where we one of our group 60+ was killing it with the kids, age is a number if your fit no problem, being fat is a killer though so I gotta lose the fab |

I see this guy at Tamworth from time to time and he's gotta be getting on for mid 50's and he's kicking it with the best of them. If you're gonna have a mid life crisis then I can't think of a more enjoyable way to do it. Theres more "old uns" out there than you realise and I'm heading in that direction myself and "I dont give a flying f*ck what people think.

Look at it this way. If you are having a mid life crisis, snowboarding is WAY cheaper than a sports car! |

Don't bother with the Porche's. I started my mid life crisis about 9 years ago (at the age of 25) and got into motorbikes. Thats PROPER quick! |
