Looking at booking a couple of holidays for next season and have found some decent (I think) deals on http://www.alpineelements.co.uk/

Has anyone used them?
What were your experiences? Good or bad

Cheers,
G

Thanks guys

That's the thing with Trip Advisor most people leaving reviews are doing so because something has not met expectation and most of it is very unjustified - we found that specifically with our honeymoon and there were load of negative reviews. We got there and it was bliss.

The GB thread linked above is 5 years old. Any more recent experience would be appreciated

At the end of the day, we're looking at two "budget" holidays this season, rather than one ££££ one. And as such I'm not too fussed about the diggs as long as the meals are edible (with a veggie option) and I'm not sharing a bed with rodents (my wife doesn't count )

i went to chamonix with them last year, can't say we had any real problems with them chalet was ok but not amazing, food was pretty good. transfers etc no problems.

depends what you are after we had amazing snow so i didn't really care!!

decent price for what you get and we will probably go with them again this year.

Chalet Champagne, Val d'Isere last February - great hosts, good chalet, poor food. Examples: Beef stew made using beef which was at best 50% meat, sauce came seperately to the meat. Thai fish curry which contained cubed "fish" of indeterminate type. I definitely wouldn't go back.

They could have done much better with the food but appeared to be trying much too hard with the clearly limited budget. Ingredients were always of the lowest possible quality. I should add that this was nothing to do with the chef/hosts, they didn't do the shopping or set the menu - all supplied by the company with little room for alterations.

Went to Les Gets, Morzine, April 2010. Overall quite good for what we paid. Like earlier post, food was ok but of poor quality. You get what you pay for at the end of the day.

I've noticed a few negatives from about the same period on a couple of sites, the trouble is they still float to the top, no matter how old. As you say, even with Trip Advisor, it's usually those with a gripe that shout loudest. I must admit, I've been on loads of good holidays and never gone further than emailing my thanks to the tour operator.

Yeah, I checked trip advisor out and got a few bad reports back but then I'm a strong believer in you get what you paid for. Lets break it down for the £230 we paid, compared to doing it indy.

Easyjet to Geneva (one of the most popular Easyjet destinations) = £149 return inc 1 boardbag and hand luggage. Also bear in mind we booked just a few weeks in advance. The low cost airlines tend to hike the prices for late bookings.
.
Transfer from Geneva to Les Gets = £45 return.

Food/drinks for four mornings and evenings indy = approx £25/30 per day= £120 max

Total cost £314.

Would I use them again ? Yes I would, if I needed to book quickly without the hassle of booking it all indy.

We filled in a questionaiirre before we left and we all more or less came up with the same result. For what we paid, we thought we got good vaule for money but would have happliy paid a little more for better quality food. Other than that, they did a good job.

Hope this helps.

I went with them on a big family holiday a couple of years ago... we took over the entire chalet! I thought it was pretty awesome. More food than I could possibly have wanted available whenever I was home, including freshly baked tea and cakes when we got off the slopes

The chalet was lovely, even though we had a 15min walk to the bus, then onto the slopes... it didn't seem like too much of a hassle though, busses were always on time.

I'm used to organising ski holidays for myself so it was a pleasure to have everything taken care of!

Thanks for continued advice

I think I will take my chance and book. If the food is sh*t, we'll sort something else out
