Yo GB community,

As stated I'm not technically a beginner as I've done roughly 10 weeks on the mountain and got pretty good in that time but Life happened and haven't been able to get back to the mountains in roughly 8 years.

So I've got a trip to Canada planned in November but need to buy some new gear, I'm definitely going to get a pair of Burton cartels as I used to ride with them and loved them, but the board I used to ride is way to small and wrong type for me now, it's a 149 DC PBJ!!

I'm 5.9 12st (hopefully will be down to 11st by Nov) and I'm looking for an all-mountain/freestyle board with some good flex (used to love messing round with butters tricks etc) not looking to spend a fortune and was hoping for some suggestions on boards to look at??

Any help would be hugely appreciated as it's been time

PEACE.

Hi,

I'm of a similar height / weight to you.
If you're going Canada obviously the board needs to be good on powder, so it will have to be much bigger than your 149!

I ride a 2014 Ride Highlife UL. 161cm.
I think they do them slightly bigger but I could not get hold of one at the time. It's a great all round board. Floats easily over the powder. Has plenty of pop, and is pretty stable at high speed on the piste. Also half a kilo lighter than my old 158cm ex-hire board.
It is marketed as all-mountain.

I would guess newer versions of the same model have similar features.

Board features are covered in the review video below.
