I am heading off to France the beginning of Feb and kinda wanna do some warm up at an indoor resort.

I have done some research and found Snowzone pretty good, have anyone been there or try somewhere else that's better? Living at Somerset so may prefer somewhere near.

Plus: I am bringing a beginner friend as well, will I be allowed to instruct him in the resort? (been told some places you are not allowed to teach someone else on the slopes)

Thanks in advance

You are probably about the same distance from Hemel Hempstead as you are from Tamworth if you're in Somerset. Things will improve when / if Swindon Snow Centre opens.

Tamworth is a longer slope but older, so the snow is of less 'quality' compared to others in the UK. Getting up the slope is no hassle using a rubber escalator.

Hemel in contrast has one of the most recent snowmaking systems, and the slope is wider, but not as long. There are two button lifts - if you don't know how to use them you'll need to book a lesson as those found flailing on the lifts a load of times will be politely shown the lesson booking form.

For instructing yeah, you'll have issues at any UK slope - otherwise any one of us could rock up and coach anyone using their slope right?
Even BASI certified staff cannot 'just teach' at a slope - it's owned by a company, it's not a public space like a park or football ground.
It's not only against their policy (they employ their own qualified teaching staff) but it is against their public liability insurance too.

I'm from up north so I've no idea about the domes down your end, but I concur with Flinnster on teaching indoors, but I think I read it as teaching in France whilst your on your holiday?

If so I can't see why not.
