Nope. The only way you can improve that plan is to stay even longer.
Have you sorted accommodation? And work (with appropriate visa)? Have you been to Whistler before? |

Good choice, Whistler is so much fun, your going to have the time of your life! You should be able to catch the last of the heavy snowfalls in January
Try and get yourself to a few different resorts in BC if you can, and even Alberta
Just a warning, once you get a taste of riding 24/7 you wont want it to stop! |

I assume Whistler Blackcomb still does 'Night Moves' where they have night riding at the base of Blackcomb, think it was Thursday, Friday & Saturday until about 10pmish. So that's nearly 24/7, I'm not sure it starts until further into the season though.
January is pretty good right after Xmas, as there are barely any tourists, as Xmas has just finished and it's too early in the season for most taking holidays. So you get some pretty quiet slopes, only downside is the old keeping the high alpine lifts closed if there is a big dump of snow until the weekend, so that all the people come up from Vancouver for it. As the month goes on, you should be in for some decent snowfall.
Not sure how into Park you are, but I'd still expect the Park to be in early days.
At the end of the day though, fantastic opportunity to get a way. |

Out here in Banff and probably quite a lot of resorts! When the hills are closed the " crazy committed riders" can climb the local mountains for some moonlight pow until daylight then head out for first tracks at one of the hills, then for some park and some night riding in Norquay or Louise to top it off.... |

The only advice I can give is buy the people that have done seasons there before a lot of beer and they will show you about the hill |

Hi R1ch,
Sorry to say, but we no longer have Night Moves at Whistler Blackcomb.
With regards to keeping the snow for the people from Vancouver, I just wanted to give you a bit of background about Whistler Blackcomb's operations decisions. Generally, when we have a heavy snowfall, the snowpack becomes unstable and it isn't safe to let our guests access that terrain until patrol has had a chance to do avalanche control. Safety is the No. 1 priority for Whistler Blackcomb. Patrol does their best to get the alpine open the day after big snow dumps by using avalanche control techniques like ski cutting, avalanche bombing and heli bombing. Unfortunately, even after their efforts, the snow may remain unstable or weather conditions may be variable and we have to close areas of the alpine for longer than a day to keep our guests safe. It may seem like we're keeping it closed for the weekend visitors, but in reality, we'd love to open the mountain up just as much as you. Usually, if the high alpine is closed you will see that the avalanche advisory is either high or extreme. For more information about avalanche advisory, you can visit our website http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/weather/advisory/index.htm or call the hotline at 604-938-7676.
Hope that clears things up!
