I've been to the 3 valleys a couple of times, some great runs there and I remember doing the combe vallon in waist deep powder when they'd just opened the lifts. Doesn't get much better than that but I'll second the comments about it being very expensive, if you don't know where to go.

Also, I wouldn't agree with the comment about it being the best value lift pass for the amount of slopes you get. I've just come back from the Dolomites and for that you get 1220km of pistes on one lift pass. Some of them you have to get a bus between but it's a much nicer and considerably cheaper place to go.

Not many boarders out there though

But the rumour is down here that there will be a lift in by 2015 linking bozel into to san bon and then to la praz, bring it on cos then i can walk straight out of the apartment and into the lift

they've been saying that for a while. my wifes parents live in bozel, they've been there for a couple of years now so we've heard quite a bit about it but as yet its still only rumours. there is an off piste run that comes back in to bozel but you can only really do it when conditions are just right. i've not done it before because if you're not sure of the route then you could get very very lost! apparently the off piste route is planned to be the piste back down to the large green area at the south side of bozel which is roughly where the lift might be put.......

if they do it then bozel will probably get a bit more pricey!!!

The rumours have been flying about for ages but one of the big stumbling blocks was that the Marie put a hold on building any new infrastructure until the towns drainage and water was upgraded, this was done last summer so theoretically its all go. I was speaking to a few of the people in town a few weeks back and there is talk that a lift is now very likely. Well fingers crossed cos i would like to see my investment double over night!

The Marie's of the towns higher up also want a lift to cut down on the amount of traffic going up the hill every day

Base station is rumoured to be on the open land at the side of the football pitches -(bang opposite my apartment), the lift would have to link San bon as there would be uproar as they have been asking for a lift since the dawn of time.

The run down to Bozel is easy, i have done it a few times, take the san bon trail - its signed on the right of the main la praz piste just after the bridge that crosses the main road above la praz. the trial is marked to san bon, after you cross the second bridge with san bon on your left - fork right and ride down through the woods / fields looking for the electric pylons, follow these towards bozel, the final bit is a bit of a faf as you have jump / climb over a dry stone wall into the last field. ride through this field to the little bridge at the top of Moulin, here take off your board and walk directly to the San Roche pub and buy yourself a beer to celebrate riding home.

Where do your wifes parents live (in Bozel) and what are their names (if you dont mind me asking) i may know them

Would be great if they put a lift up to Champagny at the same time. Linking 3 valleys with La Plagne and therefore Les Arcs would be great for people with 3 valley passes to use their free day in la Plagne.

QUOTE (Rosnab - 08/11/2009 @ 22:52)

Just to let everyone know who is going to the three valleys this year, that all the leading ski groups i.e. Crystal etc have flown out to france to meet with the ski lift owners to try and make them charge us left for the lift passes. However as its the best deal in europe for pounds vs. pistes they wouldn't budge.

They did however agree to write to the owners of the 3 valley bars and resturants to plead with them to take a look at their prices and see if they would consider changing them or at least putting as stop on the rise of them.

Apparently 80% of 3 valley tourists are Brits and if we stop going because we cant afford it they be in the sh*t so hopefully they will sort something.

All bars/resturants who sign up or agree to this will apparently be published on the british ski operators websites. So if your going this year you may be lucky and we can get a cheaper beer and know where to go to get it!!!

Or you could go sdmehwere else, there is life outside the 3V you know.

A lift from the Three valleys to Champagny? That would be one massive lift! You can get the bus over easy enough anyway. Would cost far too much for it to be worth it really

A lift from Bozel to Champagny Nick. Not so far really, probably only a 10-15 minute ride.

Cant really see the point in that personally. The areas are big enough as it s on their own, cant see too many people bothering to head over from one to the other.

it would probably be good for the appartments and chalets in bozel as they could cater for both resorts

nice one - i do like it in there although the beer is a bit ropey sometimes.

I think i know who your mother in law is but never actually spoken to her her / met her, you heading out any more this season?

I reckon a lift out of Bozel to Champery would never happen tho - too much expense for the amount of traffic that would use it as the majority of the custom using the paradiski area will be approaching from Moutiers / Boug side of the hill.

Champagney...and Pralongnan looked like they could be great fun when we there in the summer!! Thats why I asked if anyone knew about the bus service there.....I found a time table and it looks like we can get there easy enough (from Brides) but getting back is not so easy Unless we could scrounge a lift
