  #1  2nd board help  Posted 02/03/2018 @ 12:27
Im looking for my 2nd snowboard to progress on. I have had an atomic hatchet 2012 for few years and now want a new board.
Heres the problem.
Its great for beginners learning to link turn but i find on the steeper slopes it gets twitchy and makes me nervous. Its poor at speed and turning at speed its very jumpy.
Ive been looking at beginner boards again because i want a board easy to turn on when on steeper slopes and at speed. Thats good on ice and in powder?
Any suggestion. Price no object
11/12 atomic hatchet 153 with 10/11 k2 formula bindings

If I won the euro millions I'd buy my own mountain!!

In reply to post #1...
I had a hatchet years ago (the one with the bomb on) and it was a great board. I changed it to a Rome anthem (stiff all mountain) and whilst the Rome was great I longed for my soft hatchet back as the Rome needed full concentration or it would bite you.
I now ride a soft never summer proto and love it.
Soft boards are generally easy to turn but sketchy at speed, stiff are harder to turn but stable, It’s s trying to get something that suits your own style and ability.
