Revision #3 (Last edited: 02/04/2012 @ 16:42)
Hello all, im new here and also new to snowboarding.
Always wanted to give it a try and finally got to try it with some lessons at xscape in castleford, had the best time and really picked it up quick. i used to skateboard a lot a few years ago so kind of used to going sideways!
anyway, the boards you rent are quite heavy and clumbsy so as its my birthday in a couple of weeks i went and put a deposit down on a 2012 burton custom flying V with some 2012 burton cartel est`s in toxic green. I thought it woud be a good board to go for as its going to be a good all rounder that will out perform me for a long time to come!
basically i cannot wait to get it on the slope and practice more and book myself a boarding holiday with my girlfriend next season.
anyway, hello from me. ill probably be asking lots of questions.

Rob.

Kool! My names Craig Scott on Facebook. I'm usually filling the page up with crap & noob questions!

Tbh I don't think I have ever been on a Wednesday? Im normally there on a random weekday if i can meet people there or get the missus to come.

Lately I have been going on Saturdays nights. 4 (7-11) hours 31£. Spot on, rather quiet after 8/9 aswell. Usually a clear slope! Its nice when they leave the kicker out aswell... had my first few attempts on it yesterday. Much fun.. just need to perfect the landing haha

I got it from my local shop, rock city, the shop is welovemountains and you can buy things for the web price and they have some good offers on at the moment. I got the 2012 custom flying v and some 2012 cartel ESTs in toxic green as a package for £390 I was very happy with the saving

Nice set up mate

am also new to boarding just came back from my first trip 100 times better than the Domes, but the fridge is a great place to start.. learn your turns.

lots of views on when you get your kit and where you learn. i was told to learn out on a mountain, but it would be a bit of a waste of a couple of days lift pass. so did a day at the fridge.
payed off as i progressed loads quicker on the mountain.

I got some Nike boots Vapens were really good didnt hurt once! tryed on loads of pairs b4 i got them.. money well spent..
also have Union Contacts which are awsome and looking a demo A Bataleon Evil Twin this week

Sure you will enjoy it just as much as i Have

Welcome

Board looks sweet dude!

Make sure you get them boots mate, a lovely new board with shiny new bindings is useless without well fitting, comfortable boots. Hunt around for the RIGHT ones, they are prob the most important piece of kit you will need!

Let us know how you get on with her
