In just a matter of seasons, award-winning wax sensations Butta took the UK snowsports industry by storm, and not only can their waxes be found slicking boards belonging to some of the UK's top riders, but the Butta boys are familiar faces at some of the top action sports events around the nation.

Kaz: What is Shred&Butta?
Jim: Shred and Butta has been born from our brand Butta. It's an agency formed to help new upcoming brands and established brands in ways such as Events, Sales, Athlete management, PR and Creative.

Kaz: Where are you based?
Jim: Currently we are working from our offices and showroom in Leatherhead.

Kaz: Where did the idea for S&B come from?
Jim: Throughout the last few years working with Butta, and with our industry experience, we realised we had a lot to offer to other brands who were in our position when we started. It’s a world of the unknown, who to sell to? Who to contact for PR? What events you can get involved in? Social Media? We wanted to be able to share our knowledge and help other people, and therefore helping to build this industry.

Kaz: What industries do you specialise in?
Jim: We’re sticking to what we know; Action Sports and Lifestyle.

Kaz: Why these industries?
Jim: It's where all of our experience lies. Between us all behind Shred and Butta, we have over 30 years experience in these industries. It's what we know!

Kaz: Where did the name come from?
Jim: Just the love of ‘shredding’ and the recognition of ‘Butta’.

Kaz: What makes you different from other agencies?
Jim: We work alongside our clients, not for them. We want to help build brands in this industry, with the hope that the services we offer will end up in house. We also are doing this because we have the passion and love for our industry, not just to make a crust.

Kaz: What professional experiences are you bringing to the brand?
Jim: We have the knowledge and understanding of the brands we have created and worked for. We have run some major events both in the UK and Europe. And all have real life experience within the industry such as doing seasons. I think this proves we all have the experience to create this agency and really help some brands grow.

Kaz: What do you think are the main reasons Butta became so successful as a brand?
Jim: Constant hard work, dedication, passion for the industry and having other people share their knowledge and experience with us.

Kaz: What one piece of advice would you give a start-up brand, maybe that you'd wish you'd known before you started Butta?
Jim: It’s a tough world….. never give up. Always trust and believe in your brand, and people will see that and share it with you.

Kaz: Which industry event have you most enjoyed being involved in and why?
Jim: We’ve enjoyed them all for different aspects. I think the ones that really stand out are Freeze and Ski Show. Ski show is great way to share your product with the end user.
We ran ‘Hail the rail’ at Freeze this year and it went off! That was so much fun!

Kaz: What do you think S&B is going to bring to the UK snowsports scene?
Jim: I hope we can bring more events to the scene. We don’t have enough!! We already have some big plans for summer 2014!

Kaz: What do you think makes a successful event?
Jim: The people, the riders, the sponsors. Get that right, it’ll be a success! Good Vibes!

Kaz: When you're not running S&B, what would we find you doing?
Jim: Surfing, Snowboarding, Wakeboarding…. And sinking the odd beer!

Kaz: How can we find out more about the work you do?
Jim: Check us out on Facebook for all the latest news, or visit www.shredandbutta.co.uk!
