We had a quick catch up with Aimee and dropped her some questions for her first GB feature, already this season she has been in Hintertux with the GB team, in Saas Fee and Breckenridge, Colorado USA, with the Roxy team and now in Calgary Canada.

Questions- Kaz Willmer
Pictures- Anita Fuchs
Name: Aimee Fuller
Age: 19
Hometown: Keston, Kent. Currently residing in Belfast.
Favourite mountain: Dachstein, Austria.

GB: Hi Aimee, where are you right now?

AF: I am currently sitting on a plane to Calgary Canada, I am heading on a backcountry trip to BC with Roxy, I am watching some movies and catching up with some emails!

GB: What have you been up to this season?

AF: This season I started off spending a couple of weeks riding the Glaciers in October, I spent 2 weeks in Hintertux with the GB team and a week with Roxy in Saas Fee. In December I went to Breckenridge, Colorado USA, with the Roxy team. Home for Christmas, I then went out to Switzerland and did a few contests over there!

GB: Which contests have you done so far?

AF: Pleasure Jam, The Oneill Evolution and the Burton European Open.

GB: How were they for you?

AF: My first contest of the season was the 4* TTR Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam in Dachstein, that went really well and I finished up 2nd in that.

At the start of January I hit up the Oneill Evolution in Davos, a 6*TTR comp and finished up 5th there and then I went onto the Burton European Open, I didn't stomp my run and ended up in 10th place!

GB: Do you prefer contests in North America or in Europe?

AF: I have never competed in the USA, I competed in Canada last year, I am hoping to go to the US Open this season though!

GB: What have you got planned for the rest of the season?

AF: I am going to compete in some more competitions, The Arctic Challenge in Norway is coming up in a couple of weeks and I am looking forward to checking out Norway and riding there.

I am also going to be filming some with Lipstick Productions an all girls European Snowboarding movie project. I will gather footage in Canada and then Chamonix in February, and then at the end of the season I will go on some trips with the rest of the crew! Norway is on the cards for a road trip.

GB: What tricks do you hope to get out of the season?

AF: Consistent back 7's and a switch frontside rodeo.

GB: How did you get into snowboarding?

AF: Skiing on the dryslope, there was one guy that snowboarded there and I thought that it looked cool haha

GB: What was it that made you decide to go pro?

AF: I didn't really decide to go pro, It just happened, riding lots and having fun.

GB: Do you think you’d still be doing what you are if you hadn’t moved to the States?

AF: No, It gave me the opportunity to go at the weekends with friends. I went on a summer camp in Oregon, Mt Hood and it was there that the Roxy Sponsorship came about thank's to Erin Comstock.

GB: Who are your sponsors?

AF: Roxy, Vans, Tsa, Star Ski Chalets, Bliss by Level gloves.

GB: What’s been your career highlight so far?

AF: Top 10 X games, 5th at the Oneill Evolution, 2nd Horsefeathers Pleasure Jam

GB: What do you want to aim for?

AF: Olympics, X Games in the US!

GB: Have you had any low points?

AF: A few injuries here and there, but I have just stayed positive and got back on it!

GB: Who inspires you?

AF: Jenny Jones, as she is a fellow brit, an amazing snowboarder, and a super fun person to hang out with.

GB: What do you get up to when you’re not riding?

AF: When I am home, I hit the gym, rock climb, wakeboard a little and catch up with friends!

GB: Roxy have always been awesome at supporting female riders. Can you give us a small in site into how they support you?

AF: Roxy is a really special brand, they are different in the way they support girls from such a young age, and the system for progression, starting out on your local country team, and then you can progress onto the European Furture team, and the European Team. I first went on a camp when I was 16 and now I am 19 and that system has given me a great platform to progress, with training camps for the Future team every year. I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for them, so thanks to Roxy for supporting me.
