Burton Air: The Burton Air is an absolute classic, great technology and brilliant design. It is aimed as the ultimate freestyle board. The edges on the board are well defined for making quick cuts, while the board is still quite light, so you can easily lift off of a jump for spins and grabs. Apparently it is brilliant for rails, but I was drawn away from rails in favour of powder.
My experience: I learnt to snowboard on this board, it was perfect for learning to pop and spin. It was easy to use, light and flexible enough to help me learn. But then I rapidly moved into big mountain riding as it was a huge powder year. This is actually the best board I have used for powder and speed. It acts as far more of an all mountain board than you would expect. Was very good in pwder, I think there is a benefit in it being slightly wider under foot compared to female specific boards.
Condition: I have not ragged this board to bits; I did one season on it. I kept it as a spare board during my second season as I had been given a Burton Feelgood as a gift. I ended up using neither and turned to skiing. I am selling this because I have realised that I will only really ski from now on and cannot cart about all my gear.
It is girl ridden and that does make a difference, I also don’t do rails, and as it was such an insane powder year the year I rode this board the base never saw a rock! As a result there are no core shots on the board or major scratches. There is one sign of warping on the top right edge near the nose, this has not changed in a few years so I don't think it is deteriorating. The only downside I would say is that Burton top layers can chip at the sides fairly easily. This board has a chip at the top on the nose, it is only the superficial top layer, I glued it down and there is no warping or cracking, the board has remained good.
The Bindings: These are Ride Ex bindings, very good All Mountain Freestyle bindings. Size is ladies large and will fit either a bloke or woman riding this board, I am 5ft 6. Absolutely nothing wrong with these bindings.
