Review Detail
I was offered a place on my cousins trip out to Val Cenis in France and couldnt refuse the deal! £300 including lift pass, transfers and accomodation.

Having never heard of the place before, I wasn't expecting much, but figured any time on a mountain is better than none! Luckily I was pleasantly suprised and would happily go back for another week.

Val Cenis village is small, refreshingly French and in a beautiful valley on the French/Italian border. The ski area is plenty big enough to keep a beginner/intermediate rider happy for a weeks stay, and those looking to start venturing off piste there is enough easily accessed terrain to give you more than a taste for pow! And as most people who visit dont seem too adventurous there are alway freshies to be found not too far from the beaten track.

MGS Ski provided us with a fanastic appartment, plenty big enough for the 6 of us, within a 3 minite walk of the Lifts (although it took a good 10 to get to the gonodola, you could use the run down from the 3 man to get your legs working and avoid the walk!) as well as guided riding/skiing in the afternoons, Slalom race, group meal one evening a week and a Scalextric tournement in the apres bar, and their resident boarder Alex took me out for a mornings hiking, powder and trees more because he was happy to have somebody to ride with than anything!

The nightlife is pretty much non-existant, but that really doesn't bother me, we had more fun for less money drinking in the appartment.
Strengths
Barely a queue in site
Minimal amount of English tourists
good, fun, cruisy pistes
easily accessible off piste
MGS Ski staff were great, super helpful and up for a bit of fun
really nice appartment
Hot Spots
Cyrils bar - the only place to be for apres drinks, simply because its the only place!
Weaknesses
mostly skiers there, boarders were very few in number!
the 'park' - 3 dodgy rails and thats it!
Chambery airport - complete chaos on a saturday!
