Just like to echo Starnzy's comments - I too have the origional SSX Snowboarding on the PS2 - finnished it as every character - loved it to bits, but wished it had more tracks / tricks. So yesterday I went out and bought SSX tricky. Figured it would be different enough to be worth it. WOW - why on earth did I wait so long! They say they "modified" the origional courses - what they should say is that a few pieces of the origional courses can be spotted here and there, but otherwise they are unrecognisable! The uber-tricks are cool, but so is the way you can learn/complete all the tricks for each character now. Previously it was just too much effort trying to get each trick done.

To anyone who liked the previous game, just go and buy it! I've seen it available for £15 second hand in places, so there's no excuse for a PS2 owning snowboarder not to have this game!!!
Strengths
AWESOME game - the music's even better than before, the tracks are huge, there's loads of secrets and it's old enough to be appearing as second hand copies for £15 - BUY IT NOW!!
Weaknesses
umm ..... errr .... ahh.. I guess I'm finding it fairly easy, cos I played the previous one to death, but that's fair enough cos otherwise newbies wouldn't stand a chance!

Review Detail
Quite simply, SSX Tricky is one of the best video games I’ve ever played, and I’ve played a few. If you’ve played the original SSX you’d know that Tricky would have to be pretty special to live up to the same standards, yet alone better them, but that’s exactly what EA–Big have done. The graphics are actually better, with more detailed textures & lighting. The new characters look excellent and the character animation has even been improved upon. Both the in game Sound-FX and the soundtracks used are awesome. Yes the game does have the same courses as the original, Snowdream, Mesablanca etc. but they are barely recognisable they have been improved upon so much. Each track has been tweaked to give more speed, more opportunity for pulling off tricks and just on the whole looks better! There are loads of new secrets in addition to most of the old ones that are still there. In addition to the original tracks, they have added two new ones. The first track in the game is the new (and excellent) Garibaldi, and right near the end of the World Circuit is the awesome Alaska. The introduction of ‘Uber’ tricks has added more lifespan to the game also, allowing you to pull off even crazier moves than were possible in SSX. Another feature I really liked with Tricky was the Practice mode. In here you can watch how to pull off any of the tricks in your Trick Book, & then try them out for yourself. This made the whole process of trying to achieve all the tricks in the book far less frustrating. Even if you own the original SSX like myself, its definitely still well worth getting Tricky! You’ll be amazed at just how good it really is!
Strengths
Everything - The graphics, sound, playability. You won't wanna put it down.
Weaknesses
If anything at all, maybe it could do with just a couple more tracks, but then I only say that because the game is so good and you just want to continue exploring new terrain; so not really a weakness!
