Mcnab Snowboarding Camps

   4.75 of 5  (2 reviews)
Description
A great range of different camps offering every type of riding from freestyle to big mountain back country riding. Instructors and coaches are always great and your riding always improves during the week. Teaching is in a friendly atmosphere with groups mainly split on ability, depending on what type of course. Neil McNab is a great person to ride with and has a wealth of knowledge to let you progress and keep you safe, whilst riding some amazing terrain or stomping tricks in the park.

Review Detail
To date, I have been on 4 camps with Mcnab Snowsports. 3 times to kommunity camp in the summer, and one park and pipe course, and i've enjoyed every single minute of them.

Kommunity has been running about 14 years now, and runs every summer during July. It's a great way to either start your freestyle education or enhance your current skills. Each mornin (9 - 1.30ish) is spent on the mountain where your split into groups depending on ability and what things you want to do. All the coaches are UK professional riders along with the McNab crew who are all certified instructors. Groups tend to stay small so the coaching is pretty intense, and you really feel you improve over the week.

The park in Les Deux Alpes (where kommunity is held) is up on a glacier about 3600m up. Theres always lots of different hits for every kind of rider, from little greens to massive black kickers as well as rails, boxes and picnic tables.

In the afternoons when the park gets a bit too slushy you go down to the village and either hang out at the hotel and chill, or take part in the many activities laid on, including volleyball and football - these activities are a great way to get to know your fellow campers as well as the coaches.

Don't be afraid of attending one of the camps on your own, at least half the people there will be doing the same, and every one is always really friendly. Neil McNab has been doing this for sometime now and gives a wealth of information to anyone who asks.

Strengths
Geat coaching atmosphere with some of the best UK riders helping you progress.
Very easy to book, and get to the camp - just book your flight and you'll get picked up at Lyon.
All the guys at McNab Snowsports are really friendly and great people.
Weaknesses
The glacier can sometimes be a bit icy, but this only makes you ride better, and it usually softens up later on.
Neil McNab doesn't like to lose at volleyball or anythin else really :)
