| Review Detail |
The Sk8 banana was a great initial ride, for an all mountain freestyle stick it is shorter than would normally go for at a 159, but was surprised to see it rides longer.
Holds speed well, and the MTX is a monster for turning (although does not quite turn ice to slush like they say, it does have very good edge hold even on the cold hardpack - by far something which I now won't buy a board without.
For a rider who likes to go to the top of the mountain then take the whole run down without stopping it was perfect: The sintered base is fast (needs a wax every 3-4 days mind you) but not the fastest I have ridden, the edge hold is goods as described above, the banana allows for some relaxed riding on the flats to give your legs a rest also. The boards flex is perfect for this and doesn't flap at speed but also isn't too harsh for when hitting the kickers/rollers/boosters.
The board has a decent amount of pop and the twin tip allows for easy riding switch (which I spent 2 days riding whilst instructing a goofy rider).
Wouldn't personally suggest it for a new rider due to the maintenance needed on the base and the edges, as well as to utilise the best out of the board technique is key. For intermediate to advanced it is a brilliant all mountain freestyle board and handled well in the halfpipe.
Haven't tried jibbing on it as frankly for a couple of seasons want to keep the base in good condition:P |

| Strengths |
Edgehold - MTX is worth the moolah Speed - base is fast but not too fast and the board isn't too much of a noodle so can do carving if desire. Twin tip - brilliant to ride a board without any weaknesses in riding fakie. Air - with the pop and speed allows for decent amounts of air even off small rollers, as well as with the aid of MTX handled a packed halfpipe without any problems. Landing - The banana is forgiving on a landing, the shape means if your slightly off on a rotation you can often recover rather than faceplant.

| Weaknesses |
Seemed slightly heavier than other boards of a similar length although may have been the tired legs. Base maintenance, was surprised how often it needed a proper waxing. Price, its a fair whack for a board and there are other boards with the same features for a few less pennies. Build quality - not entirely convinced about the build quality, namely that of the edges around the top and the top sheet - which scratched very very easily.
