A film that mixes an expedition to Alaska by a bunch of snowboarding stars past and present with a documentary style on how snowboarding has evolved. You get to see some of the lifestyle and personality of those involved, not unusual but what brings makes these stars seem far more human to any fellow snowboarder is you also get to see their fears and challenges in different situations. While these guys (and gal) are all riding at a level few will ever attain they each have there own comfort zones, strengths and weaknesses. These roles swap around in different situations and anyone who has been riding with people with a mix of abilities and styles will be able to empathise with this.
Strengths
Seeing snowboarders of the highest level face new challenges.
The mix of abilities and styles of the riders is portrayed well.
Freeride footage, particularly of Terje and Travis Rice.
Hearing how to pronounce Terje correctly!
Weaknesses
The impact would have been greater if I had seen this before 91 Words.
Can drag a little at points.
Soundtrack sometimes doesn't do justice to the riding.

Review Detail
OK this film puts together Shawn White , Shawn Farmer , Terje , Nick Perata and Hanah Teter on a 2 week trip to the Alaskan mountains in search of first descents , well kind of . Its a documentary overall that mixes in some of the best filmed snowboarding Ive ever seen , the filming that is . Its more Hollywood than previous snowboard flicks but what that really means is that there was more money to spend on top notch film stock and camera crews , not to mention the bill for the choppers! Theres interviews with loads of the big names in there as well mainly about the history of snowboarding . All the archive footage u've probably ever seen is in this movie . Jake Burton n Tom Sims talk about the birth of snowboarding while Ross Powers talks about how the Nagano Olympics SUCKED! Travis Rice pitches up and takes them all to the cleaners on a big booter they build which was the highlight for me . It gives u some insight into the hectic lives of the young superstars too as Shawn admits he's hardly ridden that many powder kickers or big mountains for that matter . They all admit how bloody scared they all are too which i thought was good. Terje is simply amazing , Shawn Farmer is.... I don't know you'll have to make your own mind up i guess
Strengths
Quality of footage/sound
Insight into early days of Snowboarding
Travis Rice!
Weaknesses
How many first descents??
Perhaps abit much or dare I say it....Commercial??
